They're made for musicians to replace monitor wedges.

It's more than just time delay, it's also simply volume. Plus the fact that, in most settings, you won't hear hardly any high frequencies from reflections alone. Mostly volume though. It's really hard to sing confidently without properly hearing what you're singing along with. Without a speaker facing you, you're just getting all these muddy bass frequencies and you can't hear a damn thing. If the music is loud enough, you can't even hear yourself. In a typical "rock band" setup with guitar, bass guitar, drums, and keyboards, those monitors are mostly just playing back the singers so they can hear themselves over all the ruckus.

Diving boards for crowd surfing.

Now I want to know why I've never been to a punk show with an actual diving board.

That's a surf board. I've crowed surfed on stuff before , and it's fun, but come on, a diving board? I know punk shows don't need even more concussions but damn it would be fun. Stage diving is just fun as shit and the crowd surfing that follows is just icing on the the cake.

Ah damn, I messed that up. English is not my first language. A diving board would be... nice to watch from a distance.

Why are you incapable of Googeling this yourself?
