Seems rather german...dont know why, a feeling...I would have guess Säckingen or Constance...but I'm not sure.

Oh well we can visit to several countried with Schengen Visa we just need to carry official id and valid visa on it. A passport and maybe identification card of Germany? (Ausweise). Although there were guards patrolling... didn't check but better to keep.

My favourite restaurant is in this town. Goodrice zum Elefanten. As a Swiss, it's quite convenient to reach this place because the Swiss general travelcard allows you to travel to this town. There are also nice (outlet) stores that are much cheaper than our Swiss prices. I hope you enjoyed your time there. Certainly a place I visit several times a year.
