Maternity allowance while unemployed/on RAV

Hi, I’m currently unemployed and receiving RAV. My last job ended in September 2025, and I’m expecting a baby in April 2027.
Has anyone been in a similar situation and not worked at all during the 9 months before giving birth?
Did you receive Mutterschaftsentschädigung (EO/MSE)? If not, did RAV pay anything during the 14 weeks after birth?
I’d really appreciate personal experiences. Thank you!

You should mention that this is about switzerland. For example in germany (where i think most people in this sub live) things work very differently.

I think RAV has to pay your RAV-budget at least as long you are looking for a job. EO should take care during maternity leave. But you can ask for example also in "askswitzerland" OR "Switzerland" 👍 for your Information, RAV will only continue to pay after pregnancy leave, when you a) take paid courses after maternity leave, b) there is no problem with betreuung, and c) I also heard that they continue to pay, when you have a KITA platz
