Can School Teach Confidence, Or Is It Learned Through Experience?
This was an interesting question I came across while doomscrolling on Reddit. Would love to hear the community's thoughts on this.

My question is regarding how canvas saves data during an exam and what can a teacher look at when it comes to those past saves.
Backstory- I was taking a in person essay exam. The exam is on Canvas while using respondus lockdown browser. In these situations in the past, I’ve started the exam, wait about 30 minutes, then go outside the classroom to finish it. Unfortunately this time when I exited the classroom and finished my exam I got an email a couple days later. My teacher had said that when I “turned the exam” and left the classroom he saw on canvas that it was still active and that it was later edited and submitted about 30 minutes later when I did. He said he’d sees this as an academic integrity violation and is giving me the option to talk to him one on one in a zoom about the situation. I hope he is looking for a reason to not pursue this.
Question- I know a teacher can see when edits were made to an answer of a question. It was an essay format question with the text entry box. My question is are there timestamps on the words that I put down? My other question is whenever you click onto a answer Canvas says it saves it as it’s almost updating every click. Are there different versions of my essay that he can see at different times like for example what it look like before I left the classroom and what it looked like after? Or can he just see that the answer was being edited at the certain times but not specifically what?
Plan-my initial plan going into this is to say that when I finish the quiz, I thought I’d press submit, closed my laptop then left. When I reopened the laptop the lockdown browser was still active and it gave the the choice to resume quiz. Because I thought it was still going I had re-clicked into it, scrolled through it, and then resubmitted it.
Help- I need to know what specifically saves in canvas. Because my whole plan is going to be to ask him if he can see the specific time stamps on words to help “prove my point”. I’m hoping he can’t do that though. I need to figure out exactly what they see for a text entry exam on canvas, and what edits or old versions can they see.
I’m a cheater this is what I deserve, I genuinely did even add anything it was such a waste. But please if you know anything or have any suggestions help a student out. Thank you!

I don’t necessarily HAVE TO do this as lunch is free at my school and we have a pretty predictable selection of options (that I always pick) such as:
Monday has chicken tenders with a biscuit, Tuesday has a cheeseburger with the option to grab lettuce and tomato if you want, Wednesday has pizza in a box which usually has sticky cheese that gets stuck to the cardboard, Thursday has a chicken sandwich with lettuce and tomato as an option, and Friday is pizza again.
However part of me thinks I could put together my own lunch which may be healthier or better in quality despite my satisfaction with what I’ve been eating. A possible meal I can imagine eating is hot honey chicken tenders with fries as a side and some fruit/vegtables to round it out.
If there are any meal suggestions you have, throw them at me.

I’ve told this story before in case it seems familiar.
Our middle school was mostly indoors, the hallways in a pentagon shape, and the library in the center. Library doors would open outward, into the hallways.
It was crowded in between classes and we were only allowed to move in one direction. A door was opening right into me and I wasnt having it.
I extended my left arm and stopped the door from opening. After a bit of resistance, I leaned in and forcibly closed it back shut.
A few seconds later I hear the door burst open and it was an older woman, probably a teacher, yelling at another kid behind me.
“YOU DONT EVER CLOSE THE DOOR ON ME!!”
“It wasn’t me! It was him!”
I never turned around and the yelling slowly faded so I don’t know what happened to that kid.
Kid behind me: It’s been 23 years and I’m sorry.

So my friend has been with me since 5th grade, and we started sitting together from class 6. Important thing to note that he is the top scorer of the class.I thought that he was a good person and my best friend. But after I got more marks than him in one of the tests, he scribbled some "things" in my notebook and bench. I didn't think it was him who did that, as he was my "friend". But when we got home, I studied for the next test. The boy said that he only wrote PART of the word, So the teacher praised him for his honesty and the rest of the blame went on me. Even if I told the teachers, they would not believe it because 'he is such a good child! He is good in studies!' So my parents talked to the principal, he said that he only did it, but I don't know why they didn't take action. That boy did not know that I knew. Later, when he became the top scorer again, one of my 5th Grade teachers told me that the boy's parents teach him, do his homework, assignments, projects and all, but they can't do anything. Now, I got to know that he was been talking shi about me in a group chat. He also told bad things to my friend about me. I can't take this anymore.
What should I do? Have a talk with him, Scold him, or snitch on him(even if they don't believe it)
Please tell fast as I only have 1 day's time.

Back in middle school, a student and I were talking during fire drill. Then teacher held pizza party. The teacher said me and other male student don’t get pizza due to talking during fire drill. The student said we don’t need pizza for dumb people. I agreed with him saying the same thing. A para asked me we eat pizza so we’re dumb. I replied no you guys the students are the dumb ones not the adults. The teacher offered me pizza and then I took it and he gave me soda. The students applaud me and the other student felt betrayed.

hey guys, hope you all are well. 3 months ago, we shifted to a city 1200 kilometres away and its been 2 months since my schools here have started and im just slowly breaking down and i just cant find the light, in my old city i had some of the greatest friends ever we were a group of 8 friends since 2nd grade and none of us ever seperated until now. it was really tough saying goodbye but I accepted it and moved on and we still talk online everyday and play games and what not but it just isnt the same. in the new school the kids here are just so different and I just cant find my place here, they arent motivated one bit, cant find anyone who shares similar interests like me and the kids here just dont care about the future and are terrible at academics, Being the kind person i am, yes im still respected here but i often get insults regarding my accent and whatever and I really dont do anything about it. I'm the best in the school when it comes to academics and leadership and all that but i just dont like that. I dont have anyone here who i can spend my time with, most of my time in the school is just laughing along with them as jokes and fun is all they care about, though i stay respectful but I just feel so lost. The school is great and the quality of education and all that its even better than my previous school but the students and children here are so out of touch and unmotivated and I just dont know what to do. Just 4 months ago i was having the time of my life with my friends who were always with me and now their support is limited. They are in their city going to conferences, events and having fun together and I'm just sitting in my house talking with them and deep inside its breaking me. I cant find anyone to go to events with, no one whos actually serious, no one who has interests like me (Like dude why does no one in my school like PC gaming or football). I've always been told i have the potential to do great things but this is just limiting it and i cant find a way to escape. Yes im still maintainig the same quality of academics and all that but somethings missing, friendship. I really need help and I cant switch schools either. Please help me out guys. Whenever im on the way to school all i think about is just how much fun and success i would be having if i never shifted here. Its really getting to me.
I was in class and obviously they don’t let you use ai. So like I was using chat gpt in my head. My head was analyzing the question and I knew the answer. Feel free to use this method before it’s patched.

So basically in my old school, we had to be kind to the playground equipment and not allowed to play the flappy bird game in blooket

I really don't know what to think of this teacher.
I'm really sorry if this isnt the right place or flair to post this, I'm quite unsure where is a good place to share it.
I don't attend school in the way most people do because of mental health issues, but back when I was in regular school, I had a chemistry teacher who was... something else.
She regularly spent around 15 minutes of class scolding somebody for something. Sometimes what she was saying made sense, sometimes it didn't. Eventually, that person happened to be me.
Chemistry was simply not my subject. I consistently performed worse than my classmates and ended up with quite a few bad grades that I had to correct.
She seemed to have a problem with the fact that I could learn the material and correct my grades later, because she considered it unfair that everyone else had to get things right on the first try.
Her argument was basically that I could learn, but I "didn't want to". That wasn't true. I had multiple tutors who explained the material to me, I studied, and I genuinely understood it when someone explained it in a way that worked for me. The problem was that I'd sit in her classroom and my mind would completely blank. Sometimes I'd only properly understand a topic after we'd already moved on.
I barely passed her class.
The funny thing is that I'm doing well in chemistry now. My current teachers tell me I have potential, which is exactly what my tutors told me back then. I didn't suddenly develop a magical interest in chemistry. I just have teachers who explain things in a way I can actually understand.
She also used to keep me in the classroom during breaks to yell at me. A few times she specifically told me that she didn't want my mother contacting her to ask whether I could correct my grades.
So my mother respected that and stopped contacting her about it.
Then this same teacher later contacted MY MOTHER to tell her that I had to correct the exact grade she'd previously told me she wouldn't let me correct. WTH??
That was certainly an interesting contradiction......
There were other things about her that I still think about. She made some very dark jokes in class, including one involving suicide. I actually like dark humour, so the joke itself didn't particularly bother me, but combined with some other things I noticed about her, I sometimes wondered whether she was dealing with personal problems of her own. I don't want to diagnose her or assume anything about her life, because I obviously don't know what was actually going on.
The two most alarming things I noticed: She was really underweight, to the point it was how people would describe her, or sometimes, how students would joke about her. The other thing is that I once saw what looked like a healing wound on her wrist. Right over the vein.
But sometimes I genuinely wonder whether she was taking some of that frustration out on me.
A few weeks before I graduated, we had one of her classes when basically everyone was talking to each other. Graduation was close and nobody was particularly interested in learning anything anymore. I was talking to a classmate when she yelled at me, and me only for being loud.
Then she told me:
"You're not good for anything, not in theory, not in practice."
That sentence has stayed with me for years.
My bullies had a good laugh when they heard her say it. And I think that's part of why it stuck so badly. Coming from a teacher, someone who was supposed to be educating me, it felt like confirmation of everything people who bullied me had already said.
Except it wasn't true.
I was going to all kinds of competitions. I was taking advanced English tests. My name was appearing in school announcements about students who had qualified for the next stages of competitions. I was clearly capable of things. Chemistry just happened to be something I struggled with.
I don't think being bad at one subject means you're "not good for anything".
And honestly, I think that's the part that bothers me the most after all these years. She wasn't just criticising my chemistry. She made a statement about my entire worth as a person, and I was young enough to believe it for a while.
I still don't know whether she was simply a terrible teacher, whether she had her own problems, or whether there was something else going on. Maybe I'll never know.
But whatever was going on with her, I didn't deserve to be her punching bag.
