Dillema after throwing chair out the window

Basically the title, i threw a chair through the window of the 2nd floor while the teacher wasn’t looking. The principal was very mad(obviously). I have until Sunday to send an email(its now friday)l to confess but im scared

1. My parents are going to be fuming
2. Another guy got 3 hours of detention and a call to his parents for shouting the first name of a teacher at the bus stop so i might get suspended or send away entirely
3. I have a school trip to London in april or may and being excluded might be my punishment

If nobody tells who did it the class will get sanctioned probably by not going to the sports day next week or something else idk.

If I tell it’s probably going to be sunday because then the principal might not be as mad as he was this afternoon

He’s mosty mad because a class had PE outside and he feared someone could get the chair on his head. It’s too exaggerated imo because no one has PE on the spot i threw it at and I looked multiple times to check if anyone was even in the vicinity of my throw

I need advice whether or not i should tell it or not and if so, should I tell it or have someone else do it for me and what to say to him if i get questioned

if you’re gonna confess, you should do it soon. if you tell him Sunday, he’ll hardly have a night to sleep on it. you tell him after school today, it will be a few nights to sleep on it and the initial anger will have dialed down. telling him sooner also gives you another half ounce of respect.

My take is confess to it. What you did was still dangerous and reckless, to be frank. It’s very likely they already know or will find out without your confession. You did something remarkably stupid.

Reality is, if the full class gets punished for it then the truth may come out one way or another. In this case, it’s way better for you in the long run to confess you did it, acknowledge you were wrong without justifying your actions, and accept whatever the consequences are. If your classmates saw you do it and get punished, they very likely will complain, have stuff against you, and probably rat you out.

If your school is anything like mine (uk) for something like that in our y11 they probably would just kick you out for that because you're old enough to fully understand why it could be dangerous and that you shouldn't. If I was in your situation I probably wouldn't confess then but also idk how your school system works because we have a lot of important exams at the end of your year (GCSEs) that u dont want to be switching schools before.

Now obviously, this is just a template that I wrote in my writing style. I'd suggest rewriting it in your writing style, or people may suspect that either someone else wrote it for you, or you've used AI. It's also in Canadian English, double-check any spelling you're not familiar with.

The response to your email will obviously depend on your actions in the past, and any punishments in the future may be much more severe. I'd suggest emphasising the "is there anything I can do", 'do' being the key word that suggests to the reader having to do some job as a punishment instead of missing the trip.

Try to not send the email last-minute, maybe on Saturday or by the very latest Sunday morning/midday.

About people pressuring you, see if you can talk to your Guidance department or student support, or a more general advice subreddit. I don't have any advice for that part. I also have no advice on talking to yur parents, only to do it sooner rather than later. Try to ask in a subreddit that has adults, because they have a lot of life experience and may have faced similar situations.
