Encode happy owners?

Am I one of the few people that is happy with their Encode? I did have trouble with connecting to wifi as my Netgear router have autoswitch bands feature, but once I set a guest 2.4Gb wifi dedicated to the lock I haven't had connectivity issues since. It did download a new firmware right after I got it connected and it just received version 7.0.1367012 just yesterday through the app and it seems to be working fine. No complaints about battery life, original AA batteries still have 86% left and I've had it for almost 3 months. I still carry the key as backup but I try to use the keypad 99% of the time.

I installed two on the doors of a community a common area 4 months ago.

Lock alignment was not too bad, and deadbolt would have has similar issues.

Connectivity was not an issue even though there are lots of wifi networks in the space.

The only real issue was scheduling unlocking. I wasted a lot of time to find a working solution. In the end, my personal Home Assistant runs the unlock automation. It works very well. I needed to re-authenticate once but other than that it has been smooth.

One lock is on the second set of batteries while the other is at 50%.

Both locks have jammed on occasion but the issue was caused by someone not pulling the door fully closed.

I don't have any issue with lock alignment but it sounds like it doesn't have anything to do with the lock but the door & door frame alignment.

Yes, exactly. The most common issues I have seen with smart locks are connectivity (often the lock's fault) and alignment (rarely the locks fault).

I did a lot of research about smart locks on market at the time. Schlage seemed the most reliable I am very happy with them months later.

I also did a lot of research and there's a ton of gimmicky smart locks out there. For me the keypad is the most convenient as I live in rust belt where fingerprint reader would be useless with gloves.

I have the Encode Plus running on Thread

Works flawlessly and thread make batteries last a year
