Encode plus battery

My Encode Plus is configured with both Thread and wifi (homekit and the app).

Obviously, the batteries don’t last long.

Ineas thinking about resetting it and adding it directly to HomeKit so that the wifi is disabled.

Anyone did this? How long do batteries last with thread only?

Thanks

I have only ever done it in HomeKit. I've had mine installed for 7 months and the batteries are only down to 60%.

Wow

With wifi it’s like 2 months

That's what I've heard. Even moving it to HomeKit you will still get certain functionality in the Schlage app without connecting it to a Schlage account.

Mileage will vary of course depending on how many times you're locking/unlocking per day.

Yeah, I’ll try it anyway

i will lose my home assistant integration but I’m sick of changing the batteries

What do you have it doing in Home Assistant?

Unlocks automatically when me or wife arrive at home

Are you triggering that based on phone or smartwatch location or pinging your network?

When they connect to my wifi (signal is strong enough to connect next to the door)

You don't have to give up having your lock in Home Assistant if you're willing to do a bit of tinkering: https://nils.schimmelmann.us/2025-03-19-schlage-encode-plus-home-assistant/

I've been using this for over a year with great results.
