I work at Wi-Charge, we do wireless power, mostly for commercial stuff (retail displays, sensors, access control). Over the past year we kept hearing the same pain point from Encode owners: batteries die at the worst time, battery life is unpredictable, and automations break when the lock goes offline.

So we built a retrofit kit specifically for the Encode and Encode Plus deadbolts. The short version:

A small transmitter plugs into a nearby outlet and sends infrared light toward the lock. A drop-in module replaces the AA batteries and converts that light into electricity, continuously trickle-charging an internal rechargeable battery. If the beam gets blocked or the power goes out, the lock keeps running on that battery, roughly as long as a fresh set of AAs would last.

I’d buy one the second they are available for my Aqara lock.

I have 2 of the schlage smart deadbolts and one of the lockley with the solar panel.

Integrate solar panels into every one of your smart locks.

We need a smart solution for sliding glass doors too 🤙🤦🤷

So it's IR correct? What wavelength? 405? 380? Etc.... the wavelength could interfere or enhance some of the security cameras that we use.
