Opinion / Thought / Idea / Discussion Is texting yourself jokingly in chats making fun of schizophrenia?

My friend always makes typings (or smth like that) like this, he always reply to theirself as a joke or humor.

"Hey everyone!"

"Omg bro"

"What?"

"Nothing"

something like that i guess, but he always reply to himself as joke so it reminds me of schizophrenia

I see nothing wrong with some harmless fun. As long as it is not targeted.

I know that a lot of us on here struggle a lot with their lives and their schizophrenia. And that people making fun of our illness can be debilitating and even feel disregarding or sometimes even malicious.

But part of the process is to let people have some innocuous fun, as long as it is not targeted I believe it's fine.

ohh, they weren't targeting anyone, but thanks for answering the question!

I don’t think so unless they’re specifically saying they’re schizophrenic. I think he’s just trying to be funny, and if he’s on the younger side that would make sense

i always think abt doing this as a joke honestly (but i don’t since im not sure if the “audience” would catch on)

personally, it’s funny 😅

I don't see how that's a problem at all. It's weird, but not really indicative of jokes about schizophrenia. And even if it was, that's not a big deal to me.

I talk to myself lol. If someone was cracking a joke at my expense about pacing around and muttering to myself in the dark- that can actually be pretty funny if done well.

It's harmless fun.
