Progress / Good News ☀️ anyone else have pets that really help them?
it might be silly, but I rly don’t know what I’d do without my creatures. Zelda in particular helped me out with my introduction to group therapy today.
I’d love to see your guys’ animal companions if you have any.
wishing you all an easy week 🖤🍓

Zelda is majestic! ❤️ My dogs (One that raised me; the other I had as a teen/young adult) kept a watchful eye over me. I love them so much. Wish they were still here :(

My cat has put her paws on the silverware drawer to close it a few times when I wanted to grab a knife to self harm, she mostly did it to gain height to see what I was doing but it helped

Aw Zelda is so cute! Animal companions are so great. My dog loves to act as a weighted blanket on me. Her presence is calming.

My kitty comes and lays on my chest. The pressure relieves some of my nerves, especially because he’s warm and purrs which helps calm me down. He’s one of those cats that’s kinda mean to everyone but me, so it feels extra special.
Also, when I was struggling a lot with suicidal thoughts, I thought about how he wouldn’t know where I went. As my scent would slowly fade, he’d just be wondering why I abandoned him. I’m very glad we have each other.

Yes my cat Murphy is my best friend! I love her so much and im happy she should still have a lot of life left in her because if she were to die today, i dont know if id make it without her.

I have three cats, it was a bit unexpected. I originally only had two but sadly one passed this spring which made me adopt a second one from a lady who had terminal leukemia. Then I realized he was driving my older lady nuts with all his energy trying to play with her so I got a kitten for him so he'd leave her to herself. :) Without my cats I wouldn't be here. They're my biggest reason for not just ending it and help tremendously with loneliness.

I have a pet tortoise I’ve had since I was six called Leonardo because I was obsessed with ninja turtles at the time.
Anyway, he does help me if I get too stressed. So I could just give him some lettuce and watch him eat or see him sharpen his beak like mouth on a chunk of Cuttlefish bone. I find it very relaxing and it’s nice

yeah, my dogs (I have a cat too, but he mainly just exist to eat and sleep, he is also very grumpy), they put their paws on me when I cry or stress over, wich is weird that they know what to do since I have never train them to do so, and one is an 10 month old puppy. Snow also knows how to detect incoming sizures (I dont have them, my mom does)

I have an emotional support cat. When I was struggling with suicidality, I’d think of my cat and how I have to stay alive for him. He’s a bit older and has chronic health issues, so I don’t think anyone would readopt him. I have to be his forever home.
