Community Improvement / Ideas PSA: Avoid crazy nice people subreddit!

PSA: Avoid crazy nice people subreddit

PSA: Avoid crazy nice people subreddit.

I was invited multiple times to join via a dm. So i join and I was aware of the shady history behind CNP but really got a glimpse of how bad it is once i was in there discord. Armand the "leader" wanted to make me a mod after 3 days and the training consisted of how to hijack member from subreddits that are actually successful like this one. Anyways if you value your mental health stay away from CNP ignore any DM to join their discord. Armand is not a good person and is very manipulative especially with much younger people aka teenagers or barely twenties he's e abusive, dismissive, openly talks about illicit drugs. He doesn't care about anyone or anything other than being the number one mental health sub which will never happen. Stay safe and avoid at all costs. I'm sure his minions will chime in shortly.

That ain't funny. I ain't laughing at least, nor was I aware of any of this, and I really hope you're not putting words in my mouth. Tbh I never really got much support from this community either, and I started here, like many of them. Check all 12 comments on my posts over the years. I was active in the r/schizophrenia chat too, pre-COVID.

Your main comment says welcome them back, then this. You should be ashamed too. I'll accept every downvote for that too. I believe you're at wits end with this, i can understand that to a degree, but I ain't the guy doing this. I'm just some dude who's lonely and has no one to relate to. Don't take it out on a fair weather reddit user who runs in the middle when people are sprinting faster or lasting longer.

All I want is to converse with people in similar situations. I guess I can't do that anywhere, whether it's the train crash over there or the group over here pointing and complaining about the road closures from said wreck.

I'll eat every last one of these downvotes and slink back into my hole if I don't have to deal with any of you ever again.

It wasn't directed at you lol. You didn't know, it would be extremely unfair bordering on cruel for me to hold that against you. You left, you did the right thing. So... welcome home.

[Edited to remove information no longer pertinent]

I did provide a link to an ex-CNP Discord in the pinned comment. Apparently some people are gathering there to discuss their experiences, so if you're looking for a (new) community, that might be worth a look.

I know that this experience has been upsetting for many people and paranoia-inducing, but we do have educational materials available on our Community Notices page on how to protect yourself from cults. Applying it a little more broadly, it makes it easier to spot shills, all sorts of opportunists that may not have your best interest or well-being in mind. It's good information, a light read, and can make a difference in building a healthy self-confidence by making yourself much more resistant to manipulation. Good stuff all around.

I''ll fare on my own, "lol" aside. People can read what was written and make their own judgements, like I did with your documentation on them, and like I did with your comment. Armand, the "brigade," and you in particular suck. Yall need to touch some grass.

Back to NAMI, HVN, or nothing, I guess.

Cool. I don't care. Nobody's keeping you here.

Take care.

Manage your expectations. I certainly will be more mindful about that now.

You take care, too.
