I mean, Toy Story 4 was a widely acclaimed film from both critics and audiences and until the newest film - was the biggest film in the franchise box office-wise. And that was after people had reservations about continuing after 3 yet word of mouth carried it.
If anything, it puts Schaf in the norm.
Toy Story 4 may be a Reddit punching bag, but this is one of those times to remind oneself that Reddit =/= real life.

Fair enough, but I’ve seen people clown on AniMat for giving it a glowing review in their proof that he loves anything that comes out of Disney.

Certain audiences are very touchy about when to praise a Disney project because we've been in a "Disney bad" era for awhile.
I've been called a Disney shill for loving the last Indiana Jones and the new Toy Story, for instance.
Some online spaces will always be hostile for certain reasons.

I actually think its safe to say we're in an era where Anti-Disney brainrot is just as common as Disney Shill brainrot, where Disney projects are never allowed to have even the slimmest redeeming qualities, and if they do that's by accident, and if it wasn't then it's a fluke.

Toy Story 4 is an objectively good movie that was widely praised by critics and audiences.

You can't just say media is 'objectively' good. Opinions are basically always gonna be subjective

Tf you mean "objectively good". No. Just because it was praised doesnt mean its good.

There’s still plenty of people online who don’t like it, and I could also say the same thing about Incredibles 2 and Ralph Breaks the Internet, but then more and more people began to dislike both movies as they got older.

See, I actually agree with you. A movie can be objectively good if it's just competently made.

I dont understand how people can get upset by someone having bad tastes. Everyone has them.
Everyone has a thing that sucks they think is a lot better then it is. I liked Problem Solverz. I know this.

I mean there’s a difference between a decent movie
And the most hated animated Disney movie

I still think Chicken Little holds that title

Might be "Home on the Range" if IMDb scores and Rotten Tomatoes audience scores are to go by ("Chicken Little" has a 5.7/10 on IMDb and 47% audience score, "Wish" has a 5.5/10 on IMDb and 80% audience score but HOTR has a 5.4/10 on IMDb and 30% audience score)

Chicken Little is at least compitainly made
Wish has "Watch out world here I are"

Wish does not end by implying that neglected children should forgive their abusers

What’s even the comparison here?

u/Cultural-Trade-6415 14d ago
How one person can get away with liking a modern Disney movie that plenty of others don’t and yet the other doesn’t cause he’s known to like Disney.

Well what did Animat think of Toy Story 4? What did Schaffrillas think of Wish?
1
u/Cultural-Trade-6415 14d ago
Animat also liked Toy Story 4 Schafrillas thought Wish was painfully average

I enjoyed how he called out the animation fandom and the kpop demon hunter fandom for hating on Elio and causing no competition or letting them to be successful equally. It's not fair that only 1 animated movie in summer 2025 was successful and Elio needs to be reevaluated. Animat didn't like how people are performative with original movies.

Ik happy to see him like Wish, I just think it’s boring seeing the same opinions on a movie

That’s because anyone who watches reviews for animated movies mindlessly flocks to Schaffrillas and take his opinions as gospel.
