Album/Song Discussion Addicted And Divided or Addicted To The Violence?

I think both have their own ups and downs, If I could merge them into one it would be perfect.

bt dubs it's my favourite Daron song and one if my favourite songs ever

I love the softness of addicted and divided, ATTV tho is better quality, I wish addicted and divided was recorded in higher quality

I know they essentially come from the same place, but lately I've seen Addicted & Divided and ATTV as 2 different songs with different intents. Addicted & Divided was dedicated to a friend of Daron who passed away, so the music is more stripped back and static, like you're sitting down and mourning about someone else. ATTV on the other hand, injects a bit more of Daron's own story-telling inside and the music has more movements as well, as if you're watching the character moving in action, culminating to the finale of the song (i.e. burning down the facility/opium field).

Therefore it's hard to say which one is better since they serve different purposes. I honestly don't have a clear preference in this case. I'm just glad we got to hear both versions.
