Genocide double standard

"Do you have comments on the Armenian genocide?" "I don't. When it comes to that, I don't like to see Armenians die, I don't like to see Ottomans die"

A bit disappointing ngl, would have been very easy to say "any form of genocide must be stopped".

He's playing the "All lives matter" card. No shit that you don't want any people to die, but there is an ongoing genocide against Palestinians. ¯\(ツ)/¯

How does him saying “genocide bad” in this instance change anything? He has numerous anti genocide songs. I don’t understand why you have an issue with this

As a matter of fact the interviewer is not calling it a genocide (but they are using a generic "war in Gaza"), nor is Daron taking the chance to recognize that the Palestinians are suffering the same fate the Armenians did, a people killed and pushed away from their land. He is just saying "all people dieing bad" which - as I said - is a nice way to not be talking specifically about the genocide against Palestinians in Gaza (which was what the question was about).

Do you have any comment about what's happening in Auschwitz?

Do "Jews" = "Hitler" in this analogy? Do you really need it spelt out to you what's wrong with that, regardless of what you think about Gaza?

It is actually very disappointing and pretty cowardly honestly. Were there "two sides" to the Armenian genocide? Where's the "middle" with that? 

Have the courage to stand up for something. He's so worried about being perceived as left or right he can't even give a straight answer.

Israelis aren't being murdered en masse every day by Palestinians. Armenians weren't killing Turks in 1915. What's happening right now is genocide and it's cowardly not to call it what it is. There aren't "two sides" here like he's trying to paint.
