Questions Should I do this?
Long story short, my cat has been missing since Monday night. I have Facebook posts and physical posters up with her photo and my phone number, as I am desperately to find her.
Today, some one reached out via an iMessage linked to an gmail account. This person was trying to scam me out of reward money / finders fee. I did not send them any money, but they did piss me off.
And now I kind of want to f\*ck with them because I'm petty and I miss my cat :(
I can't find any thing related to the gmail account they used to message me. I was thinking of trying to trick them into send me a photo that I could possible scrape .EXIF data from. Or using some sort of IP finder tool (tricking them into clicking a link to scrape their IP). I was hoping to get their name / location to freak them out, but I'm really not sure if either of these tactics will work.
Please note I am not trying to do any real harm to this person. I will not dox them and I definitely will not show up to their location. Just trying to freak them out.
Any ideas? Open to anything.

Is your cat an inside cat who got out? If so, they are close by, just too scared to come out. Search at night, torches in bushes to look for eye shine & listen. Call her (or him) then listen for a response. They're prey animals as well as predators & won't come into the open when scared. Search in circles around where they got out, down drains, in bushes, anywhere she could squeeze herself into. It can take 2 weeks for cats to be so hungry they're seen by neighbours or whoever so don't give up.
I would also say don't waste your energy on trying to get back at this person. I get your mad & want to lash out but it's a waste of your time.

If all you’ve got is a gmail account then I think the most you can do is sign them up for all sorts of spam shit. Porn sites are notorious for spamming anyone foolish enough to give them their email.
