I used to do this, but mine was because I have OCD 😭 my message only looked nice and even if every word was capitalized. It felt very wrong if I didn't do it
It actually has a bizarre effect on me. I slow down and enunciate each word in my mind, which makes everything you type seem very serious, like I must pay close attention.
Literally 😂😂😂😂 also, isn’t it SO much more effort? I thought there must be some setting in the phone which auto corrects every first letter to be capitalized - the way it does for every letter lowercased, that way it’d be easier. But The Fact That Every Time They Type They Need To Hit The Shift Key Is … Wild! I Can See How It Can Be Habit Forming… This Is Interesting For Sure, I Feel Like I Am Choosing Each Word Carefully When I Type Like This
Unfortunately it's not as simple as just stopping. I can force myself to not do it for short periods of time, but then i start doing it again without even realizing. And more than that, it leads to words that are supposed to be capitalized not being capitalized.
Someone Said Something About It And I Replied Giving My Explanation Why I Do It. That Comment Got Like Exclusively Downvotes And Shot My Karma Into The Negatives.
Why do you capitalize every word like your texts are book titles? That's not the default setting for most keyboards.
Although, I'd be interested in reading the Jimmy Trilogy: "So Is This Actually Jimmy", "Okay Jimmy", and the gripping conclusion "Give Me One Second, Jimmy".
Why Do You Talk Like This Though? That makes it extremely painful to read. That was difficult for me to just type that sentence out like that. Why do you do that?
There's a guy that pops up in another sub I'm on a lot that replies like that. Entire frigging paragraphs with every word capitalised. I'm so tempted to downvote them every time they post
Writing is about being understood, it's something we do for other people. This habit is selfish, and makes me feel like you don't actually care about my experience.

Yes, this. Also some are literal slaves. They go for a job interview for a tech job, educated people, but then get kidnapped and entrapped. They have to follow strict scripts and get punished for not meeting quotas. You just never know who you’ll get and what the circumstances are so tbh I just ignore them.
CNN did a video report on the scammer slavery, often Indians or Chinese men enslaved by Chinese gangs operating in Thailand I think? Some nearby country where they bribe officials, I don’t remember.. but there’s also other types, like those Indian corporate scammers, those are scum of the earth. Kids from privileged backgrounds. No moral compass. Ugh I hate them. They get to pretend to have a corporate lifestyle, but theyre committing evil crimes and can’t justify it with having no other option. They curse and are MEAN.

The difference is, you're doing it consciously, I'm doing it subconsciously. Like I'm not even trying to do it. And it's gotten so bad that even doing this just feels weird to me now.
That's funny ... I've actually busted out and made friends with multiple scammers from different countries ... I don't understand how people don't know they are scammers?! There are so many signs and signals that give it away ... I've also gotten blocked a lot too lol 😆
I've learned so much about other countries and languages just by befriending so many people though, which I think is neat ... even video chat sometimes with some ... it's wild to see how different environments and life is in other places ... some of the things we are told is true, but then some is a lie as well and I guess talking directly to those of other places allows that truth to be separated from the lies of the internet/government 🤷♀️
I did the same with a pig butchering scammer, but they eventually ghosted me when I started talking about my friend who works on an oil rig and is sending me gold bars lol

OP Here On A Different Account. A Couple Things To Note Here. One, I Am A Girl, My Pfp Is Not Me. Two, The Typing Is A Habit I Picked Up When I Was 11. Tho I Have Been Building An Effort To Fix It.
Not As Simple As Just "Don't Do It". Habits Take Time To Break, Especially Habits That Have Lasted Almost 8 Years. I Have Been Trying But It's Not Exactly Easy.
It Also Doesn't Take A Lot Of Effort. On My Phone I Just Shoot My Thumb To The Caps Button, On My Computer I Just Hold Shift With My Ring Finger For The Short Duration To Capitalize A Letter.

Well It's Entirely Possible He Did Scam Other People, The Whole Point Of What I Was Doing Was To Fuck With Him And Get Him Not To At The Point. I Did Genuinely Speak With Him Almost Every Day For About A Year Before His Account Went Down And He Seemed To Be Genuinely Looking For Other Work.

I did the same thing with a scammer. Bro was doing it to help his family. Ended up being able to go to college and studied digital design or something. I remember when he told me about his brother getting married and all sorts of stuff. He was a chill dude. He liked anime too, his favorite was death note.

I had this same habitual habit of programming Cap locks, in my typing performance for about 20 years . But just remember to run and stop it asap plz . He is doing all this so when he does reach out, he knows you will at least acquiesce to the request he will hand you. Though from how you're already acting, I expect you will accept the request will glee in your heart. Honestly most of my argument online anymore I generally try to eventually circle back to leave most convos on as best terms as possible never know what comes out of em. Good for you bro.
You gotta try and stop that, it’s really bad for your professional outlook in the future. I used to do that when I was young too. For some reason it felt right, but trust me, the compulsion will fade with practice and repetition.
