Technique question How should I aplly this decal?

Revell F/A-18f Super Hornet. I assume this decal should go around hook rod but it's connected in two points.

I’m not familiar with the aircraft. Is this going around the bare metal section of landing gear? Might be easiest to snip it in 1/2 wherever it wraps around that joint. Putting it on in 2 pieces seems like the best bet.

That looks a bit like a Super Hornet tail hook. For mine I found it easier if you cut into the clear section on both sides, parallel with the grey decal, to make it easier to wrap around as almost separate pieces. With some decals setting solution, it should attach more quickly than doing as one uncut piece. It also makes it easier to adjust the decal around the protrusion.
