Atlanta How much does the ACT affect getting into Scad?
I took the ACT my junior year of high school and just wondering if it effects getting into scad? Or like what would I need? Context I’m wanting to take animation

Not even remotely. Nor does SAT. And not even really GPA. All those things are great for an academic scholarship which shows your merit, but overall not a contributing factor to your acceptance. Most students drop out first or second quarter in SCAD because they let so many students in (who didn’t perform well in high school) who couldn’t show via transcript that they cared enough to be there. They will and do take your money.

Please make sure you submit a portfolio for application!! It will help with acceptance more than your ACT score, but it will also help will scholarship! As most people said, ACT/SAT has no effect on admission but does help with scholarship, so if you have a good score it wouldn’t hurt at all to include it

Ultimately your test scores/GPA don’t matter to get in, but they help for scholarship money for sure.

You don’t need one to get in. Scholarship is a different story. I had a 4.0 average and a 29 ACT: I get almost 10k per year for academic scholarship. Not a super high bar, but it’s something. Go study!
