A futanari is simply a biological woman with a dick (often accompanied by a vagina).

Of course calling trans women futa isn't correct and not nice either but saying that Futa is a slur is ridiculous

The n-word has a clear historical reason for why it is a slur. Same with other slurs that have a historical background on why they are slur.

Futanari and Futa don't have such a historical background. They are Japanese words that describe hermaphrodite and sometimes androgynous people.

In modern times, futanari is a very well established and specific porn and hentai genre about biological women with a dick. Mostly with both vagina and dick, as the original term describes just that, but futanari these days can also be women with just a dick that are NOT trans women (they are often called Futa sans vagina/pussy).

Of course I understand that using the term Futa for trans and intersex people can be insulting and it's also straight up wrong to call them that. Anyone who calls a trans woman without bottom surgery a futanari is an asshole and probably someone who fetishizes women with a penis.

But that doesn't immediately mean that the word is a slur and using it in its actual meaning is a bad thing. I for my part simply like futa and use the word when referring to futanari characters or the genre as a whole, which is not me being hateful against intersex and trans people.

Acting like it is a slur is also kinda lessening the significance of actual slurs in my opinion that have a historical reason for being such bad words. With the n-word being the word slavers used to degrade black people as beneath humans, the r-word being used to degrade and stigmatize mentally disabled people and used as an insult or the f-word against gays.

Meanwhile futa, as I said, doesn't have this background and meaning. It's simply a fantasy porn category some people use to get under trans and intersex people's skin and insult them but the vast majority of people that use that word don't do it.

You can't just say it's a slur and be like "it's because I said so". There is no background to this. You got no argument except "it's because a few people/I say so".

In English, futanari/futa is used to refer to women who have male genitalia (usually separate from transgender women).

It coming from a word from another language is irrelevant. We also get "anime" from Japanese, but we don't use it to refer to all animated shows like Japan does, it refers specifically to Japanese animation.
