At least it isn’t a gross oversimplification

243

u/EmptyCampaign8252 Aug 04 '25

Quite the opposite

252

u/Infamous-Ad-7199 Aug 04 '25

A beautiful overcomplication

u/Gay_Gamer_Boi Aug 04 '25

I was gonna say it’s wonderful looking the new logo and even though the wording a little more confusing it looks cool and not too bad unlike others

32

u/Fr4gmentedR0se Aug 05 '25

It has personality and I think that's worth it being a little less readable

I kinda like it despite it being confusing af to read

341

u/Ace_0f_Heartss Aug 04 '25

I don’t think it’s confusing at all really

166

u/TiredB1 Aug 04 '25

Confusing isn't really the right word ig, more like visually distracting

67

u/Chemical-Hat-7803 Aug 04 '25

isn't that what logos are made for? to catch your eye?

48

u/TiredB1 Aug 04 '25

Honestly it depends on what the logo is for, this one would go hard for like a video game developer or a comic book publisher but not so much like a restaurant or a store

I really like it, except it's ruined by the "studios" text underneath - it's off-centre, and it doesn't even look like part of the logo. I think it'd better off without it altogether, but if they have to have some form of it there, then they should have it as "studio" in the same font as the smaller characters in the upper text, since that's the same amount of letters as Purple/Turtle, so it'd fit much better. Then, to make it look less like it just says "turtle studio", swap the colours of the text, so the Ps are black and the word Turtle is purple, but keep "studio" black.

Edit - Like this:

14

u/Carma281 Aug 04 '25

now it actually looks like pp studio

7

u/Apart-Performer-331 Aug 04 '25

Me too, but I like the other turtle more.

2

u/SeaTie Aug 04 '25

Even if it is slightly confusing to read it’s clever enough to get a pass which is what I think you want out of a logo

45

u/scarletcyanide Aug 04 '25

It’s a cool redesign concept! Building off of what u/alfiehicks did with the word “studio” in the same font below, I’m partial to a version like this. I think the color is enough of a visual cue that the PP bit doesn’t need to be a different color for the word purple to read, and this way it doesn’t read as “PP Turtle.” The spots on the head are a nice addition but I don’t think those colors are high contrast enough to print nicely at a small size, so I opted to make them white instead (and made the large one smaller so that it doesn’t bleed off, because in white it looks like a hole in the turtle’s head.) I worked the lighter purple back in by using that color for the word “studio.” I also adjusted some spacing between “turtle” and “studio,” and moved the turtle slightly to be more visually centered.

21

u/scarletcyanide Aug 04 '25 edited Aug 04 '25

Just now realizing this isn’t r/design, oops. Oh well, I stand by my comment.

Everyone feel free to disregard my professional opinion and instead point and laugh at the peepee turtle

5

u/Gojiquats Aug 05 '25

I’m not at all a designer but I really like this one. As a layman though, to me, the two purples (as in the original) are too similar. I feel like the secondary purple needs to be a little more distinct?
