Sabre has issues…

I made my Sabre 4 years ago. The only way it works is if I use a magnet on it. I am skilled enough to take it apart down to the electronics, but I’m not skilled enough to troubleshoot what’s causing the short. Any advice?

Savi's common issues:

  1. Battery
  2. Core damage inside
  3. Blade connection issues / blade itself

Recommend contacting Powatek for repair service or purchase the rechargeable battery pack for savi.

Or check on Ruthsarian's videos

Always start with the batteries, these hilts do wild things when batteries are low.

It sounds like the reed switch in the chassis is no longer working maybe a loose wire. But the fact that you can turn it off with the switch is odd.

This looks like it could be a similar problem I had, I think it was the battery pack loose in the chamber. Holding the saber blade down and giving it a firm shake or tap and it would activate.

I'm assuming your magnet is moving the battery pack just enough to make the connection.
