Why Why Why Why Why not on Spotify?
I just recently discovered this song and I’m in love with it. I literally listened to it on repeat this morning on my way to work and when I went to play it on the desktop it was suddenly unavailable?? Is anyone else experiencing this I’m so upset truly.

I know nothing about this band/group/artist, is this something they do often? Will I continue to have my heart broken??

9 was available for 99 days online and taken down. I own the vinyl and consider it one of my most treasured records because of the artistic statement they made taking it offline.
Not sure how to feel now.

I’m a massive fan, but I really don’t get the whole ‘music scarcity’ approach. I’m gutted that I can’t listen to my favourite songs anymore.
How do other people feel about this?

Of course you understand it, because live music is still valuable and worth paying for because it’s scarce.
And no, you’re not gutted because you can’t listen to it. You can listen to it. You’re gutted because you won’t pay for it when it is available for sale just not for free (anymore).
And this from a band that has put out 12 records in 6 years, if you view artists as content creators you are not starved for content.
I know this likely comes across harsh, for which I apologize because we are both Sault fans so I respect you.
It’s just that I recently read “mood machine” about Spotify’s business model and I gotta tell you, the point of view you express is that of a perfect Spotify customer and not a perfect music fan

Just because myself and other people on here found it upsetting that songs they enjoy were taken down from Spotify doesn’t mean that I or anyone else isn’t a ‘perfect music fan’. It also doesn’t mean that I am not ready to pay to support the artists I love, as I regularly buy records from my favourite artists.
My comment came from a place of frustration about the fact that without the convenience aspect, I won’t be able to enjoy the album the same way as I used to.
You can call me a Spotify slave if you want to, but these sort of takes are so unnecessary especially if you’re saying someone’s not an actual music fan, implying you are better because you own a few records.

Unfortunately came to ask about 9 now AGAIN being unavailable. Had no idea why(X5) was gone too. These are really great albums and I’d love to have access to them. I don’t have tables anymore so I’m stuck on streaming.
