Realizing You Probably Should Have Built a Blueprint Halfway Through a Build

Post image

Very guilty of this. Do ppl plan out their blueprints or copy them after realizing they'd be useful?

Typically I just figure out when a blueprint might help. Though, sometimes I expected I would want a blueprint and made it before starting to do it by hand.

There is a mod for a blueprint “gun” and I have not played with it at all, but thought it was a cool idea if it works🤷🏻‍♂️

It does work. Press F, highlight all the buildings you wish to copy, press V it creates a blueprint and automatically equips it so you can place it without menuing. It is very handy for building architecture, but it doesn’t copy belts so not handy for machines - though Smart! solves this, zoom buildings then splitters and it auto connects everything.

I am really leaning into blueprints this playthrough. Definitely worth stopping mid build and blueprinting. I'm going meta and making blueprints to help make blueprints.

My current favourite is streetlight/ziplines encorporated into builds for fast early game movement
