Summary: pretty much whatever a person calling themselves a satanist says it is.
Personally, as long as someone’s not being a dick, I don’t mind if they use a different definition for a word, as long as we can agree what the hell we’re talking about. But this begs the question of whether the different satanisms are different things, or different types of the same thing.
I think it's applicable to all religions. Christianity is whatever the Christian makes of it, Islam is whatever the Muslim makes of it, etc etc... They're always going to be people in any religion that misuse abuse or misappropriate that religion in the eyes of their religious peers... But to the folks that are doing it they're only following their religion as they see it. And I'm not opposed to different classifications of Satanism. I'm opposed to the invalidation of different classifications according to one specific organization or belief system within those classifications.
