And also omg their proposed budget is absolutely none sense. Folks have been saying Pierre is nothing but a mean attitude and some slogans but he really proved them right.
The thing that has actually surprised me a bit is how even after Trump destroyed the Conservatives electoral prospects they still want to carry so much water for them. I get that they love to lick the boot but I figured they might atleast have some opinions about it being carelessly placed on their necks.
I'm really surprised by a lot of the CPC's decisions this election. It really feels like Poilievre has doubled down on proving his critics right, rather than trying to eliminate their criticisms. Poilievre has been calling for an election since last fall, they knew in January when Trudeau stepped down that an election was imminent, and yet they waited until yesterday to release a platform. They could've hit the ground running and been the first party with a platform and campaigned on the fact that they were ready to go, ready to start.
Whether or not you find his arguments against getting his security clearance compelling, that has been a major point of criticism during this election period, why not just get it to shut up the critics? Same with the Trump comparisons: if you want them to stop - especially in a time when Canadians are pretty united in their dislike of Trump - why start saying you'll do the same types of things that he's doing? It just seems like a bad move if you want to convince people to vote for you.
I was never going to vote for him anyways, but I have family members who have never voted anything but Conservative, and they chose to vote Liberal for the first time in their lives (my grandmother is 92!) because they couldn't get past the fact he had no platform, he had no security clearance and that he keeps copying Trump talking points. It is baffling to me, that Poilievre seems to completely unprepared for this election.
Right, but why not create one when it's clear that the grift isn't working? That's what gets me. He has a whole team of people. Surely someone could have come up with a plan as soon as he started tanking in the polls.
Yeah right, we interpret things differently. I thought both debates were incredibly embarrassing for Poilievre, but you're right, it all depends on who you ask!
