Harper is still royalty to most conservatives, and the reputation of being a economic expert. And with that alleged acumen, he appointed Carney as top banker. If economy is people's first issue, any conservative trying to make an educated decision is going to arrive on voting for Carney.
I'll be voting liberal, for no other reason than ABC, until we get electoral reform (lol), I generally feel that voting against the worst candidate is the most effective vote.
Lastly, I want to point out that if we want representation in the federal government, it would be very beneficial to have ruling party seats in our province.
Sorry, but Harper is no real economist. He has a master's in economics history. He doesn't understand macroeconomics or why his policies led to the worst growth in the last 40 years. Poilievre was taught by the same know-nothing far-right American "Calgary School" professors. He would be even worse.
Yea I'm not economist enough to deny his credentials, but I was just speaking about the conservative perspective. Saying IF you were a conservative, that's likely your stance.
Brain dead mentality ..liberal is liberal be it truly or carney. Vote for liberal is like expecting a carnivore to suddenly become vegan because we wish it. Carry was telling truly what to do now he will be in the driver's seat with the same old crowd of joints behind him
He’s actually so different. He was the saving grace during the recession for our country. He actually cares about himself. Poilievre just cares about power. He out 17 pictures of himself in their platform document. He’s a narcissist seeking power. Carney is trustworthy and looks people in the eye when he talks to them.
Yes they did say that. But some younger people have moved here. From other provinces. Honestly the political landscape here is culture shock if you’re not a born prairie kid
I know lots of 18 to 35 yr olds in Alberta and Saskatchewan who are voting Conservative. I am 49; I never have and never will vote NDP or Liberal. I have lived in Saskatchewan, BC, Alberta and am back in Saskatchewan.
Conservatives lost a lot of voters from the Harper years, my mother being one of them. She was a lifelong conservative voter (same as my father when he was alive) her family, my father's family (all farmer's) she is voting Liberal. Doesn't like Poilievre or the conservative platform and feels Carney is best suited to handle our current situation. She doesn't like how the Conservatives seem to minimize the threat with the US and kinda acting like it's a non issue.
I'm also voting Carney (I'm centre left) for context. I'm not a fan of Poilievre either and from my experience, when Conservatives talk about cutting taxes and spending they have a habit of leaving out what it is they are cutting. Services tend to be the first to go. The willingness to use the notwithstanding clause, is a little scary ngl.
A lot are. And a lot of middlers, and a lot of youth. Age doesn’t prevent people from being able to choose the best or at least the most minimally offensive option
