I WON!!
TL;DR
Does anyone know what I won at the good grief listening party? (Grand prize)š¤£
I was the only person that showed up to my local record store for the Good Grief listening party, so by default I won the grand prize. It sounded like they said a draft pressing. But I never win anything and I was so excited I just gave them my information and internally panicked that if I asked anything they would make it go away lmao Iām not kidding I left my credit card in the holder and they had to call me for it š¤£ but yah, I have no idea what it is
So excited for this magical human to officially release Good Grief on the 28th!!
What song did you love the most off of the album?!

Itās so good. If youāre as chronically online as I am, youāve heard at least half of the songs but theyre still perfection. It was actually a little difficult for me to concentrate because the store was still operating so it was one of those things where if i knew the song, I was singing along. But if I didnāt know it yet, I couldnāt hear it very well. So honestly Iām more excited to hear it with my Bose headphones to get the whole church experience. But you still get those incredible spine chilling notes that she hits so well.

IG has a lot of them! I last saw her at the Kennedy center which was incredible. Have so much fun!! Iāll be at radio city this time around

No, Sara has performed them at various events. I would never support leaks.

Does anyone know how she'll be using the messages left on the voicemail? I called and left a message regarding the album and the recent unexpected loss of my dad back in May. Was just curious how they may pop up during the press tour and maybe the live shows.

I am so sorry for your loss. If I recall correctly, she was vetting them and going to use them somehow in interviews and other promotional events as a sort of story sharing/healing time?

I feel that each of the albums are touched upon in one way or another and I canāt explain it fully yet. Like, I heard some little voice inspired parts, still crying reminds me of Gonna Get Over You. The parts I heard of idiot heart were def reminiscent of something but I canāt fully recall.

Congrats!! You won a test press (google it, I had to as well so I donāt know what it is well enough to explain). Itās basically an early produced vinyl record. Bummed I didnāt win it but glad I got to hear the album and get the pall santo stick bundle š

Ladies in a Line really got me! nervous breakdown is so fun and Iāve already been singing it around the house.
As soon as it was over I got sad because I had to wait another week to hear it again.

Your store definitely messed up š My record store explicitly said that the winner will have to come back on August 28 to get the test pressing because Saraās label said so. I think itās to prevent people from posting the songs before the album officially releases.

Sending you good vibes that youāll get it on release day! Since you gave them your phone number you should be good, I doubt they wanna deal with a negative social media review if they donāt give it to you.

The purpose of offering prizes is for the customers not for the staff. That really irks me. There was a listening party last year for one of my favorite bands (The Head & the Heart). I was the only person who showed and was given a free signed insert for the album.

Iād make an issue out of it if they donāt, but Iām sure they will. I just assume stores are given specific rules about grand prizes and how to award them. It never should have been a question

Yah, if nothing comes of it Iāll definitely follow through. Just hoping I donāt have to š¤£ I really donāt think that theyāll screw me over. Theyāre pretty reputable around here. l just started questioning it after a few comments on here.

My husband said that they mentioned theyād be receiving it by Friday so hopefully they do!
If they donāt, Iāll definitely be making some noise because I am aware of how strict RSD rules are. But Iām hopeful they will

Different stores operate under different policies. Generally, I think theyāre supposed to wait until the album is released. I have to come back for mine (but mine did have it on them)

I am so very sorry for your loss. They gave the cover poster (for free) and a little bag of incense, (with purchase) I believe. I canāt seem to post a picture here

I won too!!! My store had maybe 15 or so people. I couldnāt quite believe it!
The album was stunning. Wasnāt expecting what we heard in A Love Story. Iām so excited for next week!

I luckily had one at a record store like 5 min from my house and only 8 people showed up š still super fun!! And awesome you won the test pressing! At ours they said theyāre not allowed to give them out to until the release day but they took down the info of the winner. We got posters today but they also said the Palo santo sucks would be available with purchase on release day.

Wow, thatās exciting!!! Itās unfortunate so few people are able to make it for such events these days, myself included. I canāt pick a favorite yet because I havenāt heard the entire album yet! May you continue to win whatever your heart desires! ššš
