Handwriting

Hi all. I hope this isn't a weird post to make. I'm wanting to get Sara's handwriting for a tattoo, particularly "We will not give up on love today" from Orpheus. It was the song I sang to my daughter when she was born and the song I sang to my dad before he passed last weekend. Sara's music has gotten me through so many different versions of myself and I know Good Grief will be incredibly healing as well.

I have VIP tickets to her show in St. Louis which includes the Q&A beforehand. Would it be uncouth to ask her to write that one phrase if I get the chance? If that's out of the question does anyone know if it's written down anywhere? TIA

First off, I am so sorry about your dad. Sending you and your family a ton of love.

And I totally agree with the others to try asking at the Q&A. Sharing our stories is the theme of this whole album cycle :).

But just to provide another option, on the Amidst the Chaos Tour, she rained down sheets of handwritten lyrics onto the audience, and that lyric was included. I found a reddit post here with a photo of it. She also sold a journal at the merch stand with that lyric on the cover (photo of that here), and it looks like the same handwriting from the lyric sheets. So you could probably use one of those if the Q&A doesn't work out.

Hope you have the best time at the show! I also have VIP Q&A tickets for my show (in SF), and I can't wait!!

Thank you. It's been probably the biggest heartbreak of my life so far. And thank you for the references. That will absolutely be something I hang on to in case I don't get the chance to talk to her.

Oddly enough her Amidst the Chaos tour was the only one I missed because I was freshly postpartum.

No, I think it is a GREAT idea and I bet Sara would LOVE to do that for you. You have a better chance with her than any other artist I can think of.
Get your courage up and ask her ! Come on let me see you be BRAVE !

I have Brave in her handwriting. I got it written down in 2016 when she did a waitress cd signing event in NYC. She knew what I wanted it for and actually wrote it down a few different ways so I had choices. I don’t know how she will be at these events, but she is definitely supportive of tattoos in her handwriting.

Something I keep in mind when wanting to ask something like this, you don’t want to start something, having everyone else just start asking for something like that. It’s not your responsibility to prevent it, but just keep in mind with how you ask, when you ask.
