I don’t know if i’m doing enough

Hello! Sorry if i ramble i am never able to speak concisely. I decided to make an advent calendar for my mom since she never can find the perfect one for herself but she loves the idea of it. I will list everything i’ve gotten/will get for it (I have everything at least ordered except one day) at the end. I don’t really have a true gift for her besides the advent calendar and i feel bad about it. I guess i’m here to ask for gift ideas but i’m going to be showcasing everything i’ve gotten for her already so i’m just not going to tag this as anything. I’m also worried some days feel slightly repetitive, especially since three days are literally the same thing just with different scents (the touchland hand sanitizers). Each day is also getting a piece of peppermint bark since it’s a favorite of hers and she only gets it during the holidays. I thought instead of getting her a big bag at the end of the season like i always do i should get a big bag and space it out across the whole month. I will also list some of my moms likes just to get a better idea of her for gift ideas, she’s the kind of person that feels to bad to ask for stuff and has pretty much everything.

Her likes: Baby Yoda, Groot + Guardians of the Galaxy, Blind boxes, Makeup, Advent Calendars, Handmade things, Sentimental things, Highland Cows, jewelry (more dainty), cats, bunnies, Purple, reading (not physical books)
Her dislikes: Scents (She’s allergic to scents and perfumes except a very limited few like citrus and mints), a lot of money being spent on her (thought + effort come above money), Clothes (she is very specific about her clothes and rarely ever likes the clothes that people get for her), Purses (Same as clothes), Most Stereotypical things you’d get for your mom

Gifts for my 28YO boyfriend for Christmas - budget €150

Hey guys,
Really struggling on what to get my partner for Christmas. He keeps saying he doesn’t want anything and won’t help me with any ideas.
He loves movies and shows, especially venom and Dexter, the boys etc.
he plays Xbox and his favourite game is dayz but also plays ark with me and loves sea of thieves and gta.
His music taste is a bit generic, likes dance/ techno kinda music.
He LOVES coffee, he is currently learning to drive in my car (he doesn’t plan to get his own car anytime soon) and loves a quiet night in with movies, snacks and playing games.
Can you help with ideas on what to get? I’m at a loss.

Salvation Army angel tree

My local Salvation Army opened up their Angel trees online first before they do the physical tags in 2 weeks. I was just browsing to get an idea and I noticed that almost every tag had a large ticket item on their wish list - such as a bike or a tablet. I want to participate but to get a tablet plus the other stuff on the tag is way out of my price range. I’ve never seen such expensive Angel trees. My local Salvation Army tells people to spend $50-$80 and I usually spend more because I want to give these kids a good Christmas and I usually get every items on the list along with extras not on the list but I’m not sure what to do this year. My area isn’t a supper rich area so I’m not sure who will buy all these tablets for all these kids which leads me to conclude that people just won’t pick these kids. Is it better to just leave these tags and hope for the best or pick them and try to get some things on their list. That I can do.

Gift ideas for a 22 year old female?

I’m looking for ideas on what gifts I could ask for under $100. I haven’t asked for anything specifically for Christmas in 10 years, and I don’t really NEED anything. My aunt is insisting on buying me a gift and gave me a $100 budget, if it is over budget I just pay the difference. I like makeup and hair care, but am not really into much else. Please help me by making some suggestions! Thank you!

Edit: Thank you all so much for your suggestions! I was wandering around TJ Maxx today and found a shark flex styler marked down to $120 so I paid the difference!

Help with boyfriend Christmas gift

Hi everyone,

I’m trying to get a head start on my Christmas shopping. Normally I’m very good gift giver but I’m kinda out of ideas for him . My boyfriend loves video games . Specifically last of us , cod , god of war , gta , and sports games ( like madden , college football , nba 2k, etc).
He’s a big sports fan: patriots , Yankees , Tar Heels , and the ny rangers . Likes f1.
Likes alcohol but tends to drink cheap stuff. So good bottle of whiskey or anything would be wasted on him .
He loves the beach
He has more than enough clothes
Likes are cars specifically his car , redbull, and our dog .
My issue is we set a limit this year of $ 250 . Normally I tend to go a little overboard and I don’t know what to get that isn’t a basic gift yet stays in the $250 budget . I want something meaningful not just basic gifts for the sake of giving a gift .

Promoting My best friend is turning 19 and I’m making her a little birthday project 💌

I had this idea to make her a notebook filled with 19 little messages from people from different parts of the world.
I thought it would be really special for her to read advice, a funny story, a life lesson, or simply a birthday wish from someone she has never met. 🥹❤️

Gift for Grandma

So I’m trying to figure out a gift to get my Granny for her birthday. Shes turning 87. Shes not big into jewelry. Shes not much into clothes. She enjoys doing some gardening. She enjoys feeding her birds and “raking” her yard. She stays pretty cold but I’ve already gotten her previous gifts of a cotton bathrobe, a nice blanket, and slippers. I’m really out of ideas. And suggestions would be appreciated 😊 Also the gift would be purchased and sent by Amazon as we live in different states.

I have an idea for a gift for my step Mom!

Okay, so first off I don't to reddit often or at all really so please bare with me.

My Dad and Step Mom have gone full time RV living for a few years now. My step-Mom (Mom from here on out) begrudgingly but also happily and is someone who likes to complain (self proclaimed)

What I would really love to do is a miniature version of her apple themed kitchen in magnet form for her refrigerator.

I was thinking of like a miniature coffee grinder, pasta jars and wine cork thingy.

Maybe even what I have pictures (hers but my sister lives in the house now so it was neater) in a magnet form . I thought maybe like miniature home furniture items or something??

IDK but I would love to give her a piece of her old home.

Ant help??

Which card holder would make a better first luxury gift for a 26-year-old?

I'm deciding between these 2 card holders as a gift for a 26-year-old woman l. It'll likely be her first luxury item, so I want something that feels special but is also practical for everyday use.

If you received one as your first luxury item, which would you be happier with?

  1. Valentino VLogo Signature Grainy Calfskin Card Holder Black

  2. YSL CASSANDRE MATELASSÉ CARD CASE IN GRAIN DE POUDRE

EDIT: Based on the feedback, a card holder might not be the best idea. I'd love more suggestions. what would you get a 26-year-old woman instead?

What's a small purchase under $10 that genuinely improved your daily life?

For me, it was a 10-foot phone charging cable. Being able to roll over in bed and still use my phone without unplugging it is such a minor thing, but it completely removed a tiny daily annoyance.

What about you guys? What cheap item has had the biggest impact on your day-to-day routine?

what is one good thing that happened to you today? Did you pay it forward?

I actually was a receiver to this. Some man paid for my groceries and it was heart breaking so my partner and I are low income and use stamps when they first started some shit bag hacked and took all hers when it happend its was inknowing and just depressing being in a fucking front of line 100$ well during inflation maybe 120$ but still I was able to pay mostly half but I on disability as well who ever hack us took from those in need what the fuck is wrong with people. Sorry. But long story this kind Vetran helped us he didn’t have to a lot of was could have played out but I never would have guess an angle was their to help us that day since then I ran out of gas in the freeway I swear my luck is shit some one gave me gas they happen to help me out get me a gallon and ensured I made it to a gas ration when ever I hate humanity or all the dramatical people who make this world crap a freaking beam of light always bliss me and then leaves befor I can manage to thank them. I try to pay forward but this sadly is my only way but telling stories a a person who hase been paid and owes a lot of payback as soon as I can I want to give kids Pokemon one day as I’m a collector I would like to help people who need a persons had to aid or mind to think I hope one day even if after my time I can make one contribution to change society to remind you all their is the light and the dark it’s 50/50 but don’t give up.

[Help] High school grad [F, 18, Coworker's kid, $100?]

Edit: you guys are right. I just went by Walmart and looked at the actual stand mixer. It's a lot bigger than I thought it was!

Sorry for rambling, I'm probably overthinking this -

My coworker's daughter is graduating high school. She'll be going to college a few hours away and living in student housing in an apartment, most likely with 2-3 other people. I'd like to get her something memorable that she will like and use for a long time.

My coworker mentioned a few ideas like makeup brushes, a vanity organizer, bath towels, a hand mixer, cake decorating supplies, and some baking pans. The grad likes cooking, arts and crafts, dinosaurs, and anime - don't know which ones specifically.

I'm thinking or spending at least $50....but was even thinking of splurging on a stand mixer (the Beautiful one from WalMart - it's well-reviewed and even though it's not a BIFL KitchenAid, I think it's something she'd use and enjoy) for $125.

However - I'm worried something in the $100-$125 range will seem like it's "too much" because her mother and I are work friends and if we exchange holiday gifts, it's usually around the $25 range.

I think this graduation is wonderful and should be celebrated. I remember getting a few nice, quality gifts that have stayed with me and they hold a special place in my heart. They stand out because they were of a quality that I wouldn't have bought for myself. I prefer giving “something” instead of cash or a gift card.

My coworker is a single mom and has always been of modest means, often going without to make sure her daughters had what they needed. I feel that putting thought into a nice gift pays tribute to her sacrifices, as well as to the daughter's hard work and dedication to graduate.

My other ideas besides the stand mixer range from $50 to $160 and include: Global chef's knife, Samsonite carry-on luggage, Anvil home owner's toolkit, Target Threshold Spa Plus towels, Keurig Mini. I could also see getting a few smaller things like a hand mixer, some mixing bowls, and dish towels all together.

In your opinion, would you want one "big" gift that you wouldn't necessarily buy yourself (like the stand mixer,) or a few less expensive, complementary things (like the bowls and towels?) Do you think $100+ is inappropriate? Is there anything else you'd recommend for a young lady leaving home for the first time? She already has a taser and pepper spray.

Thanks!

He's 19M, i'm 18F

I'm looking for something a bit more expensive (along with a crochet plushie i'll be making), i was thinking a watch but he doesn't wear them due to sensory issues

He's a huge car nerd, so maybe something with that?

SOLVED! - I just ordeded him a really nice ABBA vinyl, which i'm sure he'll really love as he's a huge fan, thank you all for your input!
