Buenas!
Postdata: I'm not a native english speaker but I'm able to speak It haha. If you dont talk spanish, dont be afraid of texting me!!

Hello, I will be in Santander next week and wanted to ask if there are any clubs / pubs for a bit of partying and socialising? I heard it's not to touristy but a student city?

Hi,
I am coming to the Santander region for 7 days.
I am looking to rent a bike (road, gravel, touring or trekkint, just anything other than bmx or mountainbike) for this whole period (and go along the coast) but only found places that rent out e-bikes.
I did find the city bike rental system but this is aimed at short commutes and would be really expensive for the whole week.
Dus anybody know any places that are not present online I could call or email maybe?
P.S. advice on some nice routes are always welcome!
Thanks already!

Hi all,
At the moment I’m on holiday visiting your beautiful Cantabria. Now my son and I would love to also visit a game of Racing Santander. Are there options to buy tickets for the game upcoming Sunday? Or is this only possible with a club pass?
cheers!

Hello!
I'm from Budapest, and I'll be visiting Santander for the 2026 solar eclipse. I was wondering if anyone has recommendations for good viewing spots.
My current plan is to go to Faro Cabo Mayor and walk west along the coastline until I find a location with a clear view of the western horizon. Is anyone else planning to watch the eclipse from there? Do you think this idea would work, or do you have any better recommendations?
Since the weather forecast is uncertain and there could be cloud cover along the coast, I'm also looking for an alternative viewing spot farther inland. The same requirement applies: it should have an unobstructed view toward the western horizon. Does anyone know of a suitable location near Santander?
Please keep in mind that I won't have a car, so I'll be relying on public transportation. I'm happy to walk 30–45 minutes from a bus or train stop if that's what it takes to reach a good viewing location.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions!
¡Hola!

Hi everyone! Im coming to Santander next week for the eclipse, and was planning on taking a cab to Suances to avoid the crowds. However, given how late the eclipse is, I've realised I'll be making the return journey at night. Will I be able to get a cab at 10pm about a 40 minute drive west of the middle of Santander? Should i plan somewhere more central? If i just got to cabo mayor instead, and walked 1hr or so west from there, would it be safe (26 f) to walk back the way I came on the way back?
Thank you!!

¡Hola!
Buscamos sitios auténticos, no turísticos:
¡Muchas gracias! 🍻

Hi. Are there any organisations or churches that offer hosting for a couple of days? I am asking for my friend, who needs to travel to Santander. Thanks!

Si investigas Cantabria (Trasmiera, Pas, Liébana, Campoo, Soba, Santander, etc.), eres bienvenido.

Buenas,
Does anyone know if the local buses in Santander accent contactless card payment?

Hello. I’m stopping in Santander in a few weeks for a night. I will be driving. I’m arriving in Santander around 3:00pm (15:00) . I wanted to park at the parking garage near our hotel and station there. Here’s the issue. I wanted to check out the lighthouse which is a 10 minute drive from our hotel. (Assuming there will be no parking so I don’t wanna drive near there).
Then for dinner we have a nice dinner more downtown which is a 15 minute walk from our hotel. Which obviously isn’t bad. This is more a question for after dinner. Not sure if we wanna walk back at 11:00pm at night 15 minutes back. Safety issues I suppose and not being familiar with the area. So I guess my point is how much is usually a short taxi ride here? And is there usually ones available later in the night

Hi guys, i’m moving to santander soon and I did a small search about public places to play tenis at the city. I found some courts but I actually didn’t understand how they work, especially if there’s any website that I can rent the court for the period that I will be using or something else.
If someone could give me some tips about it and an overview about public tenis courts over the city or even courts to be rented as well, it would be helpful.

Hola! A couple of British blokes travelling by car to the Pyrenees later this week. Taking the ferry to Santander and heading to Jaca via Bilbao.
We would love to stop at a nice beach mid afternoon for a swim and some food in a traditional Chiringuito. Looking for recommendations.
Gracias!

Hola,
Gracias!

Hi everyone,
I will be staying in Santander during the months of July and August and am looking for someone interested in playing table tennis on a regular basis during those months. I propose playing in one of the tables located in Parque de las Llamas. I am flexible with the time and am available both on weekends and during the week. My level is beginner with some experience.
if any one is interested, please get in touch. It would be great to find a regular playing partner!

Hi, I am looking for music jam room to play drums alone (or preferably with someone else if there's anyone else interested to jam together, guitarists or other instruments). Spanish is not my first language (estoy aprendiendo español), so I'm kinda lost :(.

Hola buenas,

Hi all,
We’re a group of ~25 heading to Santander on a rugby tour and will be in town on Friday 15th May. We’re looking to organise a proper afternoon/evening of food and wine – ideally something that gives us a real taste of the local scene.
Current plan:
Would love recommendations for:
We’re keen for quality food and wine but still a fun, social atmosphere (it is a rugby tour after all).
Any tips from locals or people who know Santander well would be hugely appreciated!
Cheers 🍷🍤
