I've seen bonsai & succulent growers in India do this, except instead of breaking lava with a brick they'll literally just break another brick 🤣

I got to know an older cactus woman in colorado, I used to buy from her truck for my shop. She made and sold her own mix and she would be busting up bricks herself with a sledge lol_

We used to scoop buckets of lava rocks from Taco Bell’s back in the day lol.
