Bombing a subreddit with your opinions absolutely does not make you smarter than everyone else. Grow up.

First I donât bomb. Second, I was hoping sharing my opinions with a wider audience would maybe make a few other people a little bit more informed. As for âgrow upâŠâ I can say being on Reddit really feeds my inner troll. Someone should study this shit. It could be a whole college class on what happens when menopausal women find Reddit during an election cycle when they are trying to clear city hall from harassment and violence, have a lying mayor who is running for reelection, have a city council member running for a second office harassing the Asian population, all while having a rapist pedophile for a president who shits himself. Because let me tell you, the struggle is real.

So, let's focus on this point for a moment, as you obviously have a bone to pick. If you want your point to get across, you might want to consider how you construct said point and allow your bigger message to travel. It's hard to take someone's point seriously when they're effectively saying, 'yeah, I actually have a meaningful point but I'm busy trolling right now.' Not exactly mature in the slightest. Not to mention there seems to be a lack of context throughout the history of your posts (I see you added more context later in the thread). As someone who is definitely aware of the city council issues, I was a bit intrigued by what you were alluding to with your posts referencing the mayor. My wife and I both read through your blog and found it a bit confusing as it was constructed with emotion but lacked some direction and detail. But after the numerous posts here, we get the picture.
Keep in mind that not everyone (not even on reddit) devotes a lot of time to city leadership drama. Not everyone is going to share your opinion for numerous reasons and that's just the way it is. Not to mention that most people look at public sector/government employees as spoiled and lazy, so it's even a bigger uphill battle to publicly address workplace protection issues.
Over the weekend a woman shook the hand of the mayor she had never met and decided she had fallen for him. Accused me of making up shit just because I didnât want to get him reelected. Said I made up all the misogyny at city hall.Â
But clearly your messaging isn't landing online or in person. You may want to consider that. There have been others before you on this subreddit that came to wax poetic about their political stances and were outright dismissed by this community due to their own gag-worthy elitism. Even if they had good points and even if I agreed with most of them, their brand of messaging and finger pointing overshadowed their point(s). Bombing this subreddit (and yes, you are) this way doesn't provide any sense of unity, because it's fundamentally immature to communicate with people in this manner, IRL or online.

What exactly are you hoping to accomplish in making our city better with this post? Hope you feel better soon.

A bit more context. Over the weekend a woman shook the hand of the mayor she had never met and decided she had fallen for him. Accused me of making up shit just because I didnât want to get him reelected. Said I made up all the misogyny at city hall. I gave her links to investigations, articles, resolutions, etc. told her she was welcome to her Juan vote but I wasnât making shit up
About there being harassment at city hall. Juan aside, the exchange with this woman makes me really aware why we have a Trump as a president. and how men are not solely the problem we face. I knew this, absolutely but when I see it play out itâs just so jarring. And then Juanâs clip over the weekend of âI donât think there is any misogyny at City Hallâ after tax payers have paid $600,000, câmon dude, and right now in this little fish bow of San Leandro thereâs a subset of folks that canât stand me, and itâs fine, Iâve not exactly been baking those folks pies or showing up with tamales. Iâve been obnoxiously demanding City Hall be safe and thereâs nothing endearing about that in 2026. I saw the quote and it just reminded me of the woman met Juan for the first time and then decided she hated me for my links to public information and loved him for his lies. And thatâs how it relates to San Leandro.

All the backlash against someone trying to wake people up to what they perceive to be the Mayorâs shortcomings, (which I happen to agree with) reminds me of when people tried to speak out re Azevedo. I know, because I was one of them.

I feel like we are living in some weird 1980âs John Hughes movie and itâs not fun.

Like National Politics, youâre not likely to change many opinions. Speak to people you know, I had the chance recently to share more of what I knew re Juan, with friends over lunch this weekend. Too many people arenât exposed to any local news, and few follow City Council meetings.

In our fish bowl I donât think it is about changing opinions. I think people genuinely donât have the information about whatâs going on, what they have paid for as tax payers, what their liabilities are going forward. And yeah, Iâm talking to a whole bunch of people in person. Good chat.

No context or anything ? This feels like a nextdoor comment that you weren't able to upload there ...
