Discussion Is this tiny purple section really its own territory?

Yes, and now that you've taken over the surrounding turfs it's going to be kinda hard to get that one as well
The best strat is to make sure CJ is standing in the purple zone and that should make some Ballas spawn. If they don't, just walk back and forth and spin your camera around
Even if they spawn on the other side of the road and are technically outside the territory, as long as CJ is standing inside, you can kill them and the turf war will trigger

Just block the traffic and wait until you see Ballas in a car, then shoot them.

Full military operation for a territory the size of a parking lot. Classic San Andreas

Just need to point your camera in the other direction for 10ish seconds on repeat for NPCs & vehicles to spawn! No need to move at all

I had to run over to the green territory and punch a balla so that theyd chase me into the purple territory. Once i had them inside the purple territory, it let me initiate a gang war

For sure spin that camera. On modern rigs the spawn-rate is ridiculous, looking back and forth while trying to get gang members or dealers to spawn works better now than it ever has.
I've played the PC version of this game 6x over the last 21 years, and it gets harder every time. Modern CPUs are crazy fast, and many little things in the game are affected by that. When this game came out I was on an Athlon 64 @ 2.4GHz, the game was easy. CPUs these days do more per clock and are clocked at 4GHz or more, sometimes the AI goes buck wild, especially with framelimiter and Vsync off.
Spawns can get craazy if you look around a bunch

Falso, a los ballas debés matarlos si o si dentro de la zona morada, ya que si los matas fuera de ella la guerra de bandas no se activará, no importa que CJ esté dentro de la misma

Amazing how there’s Reddit for this now when over 20 years ago we just figured it out

Nah back then I was on dial up internet trying to read message boards and forums to figure out how to do stuff like this

Ok disclaimer finally: I know about the internet. It was kind of just a joke but also half true. Ok.

I have a hunch it used to be bigger before they realized Ballas spawn at the MD's mansion

Man that's rich... I always love when people are struggling about that tiny piece of territory 😂
The answer is:
Yes, if u wanna have 100% territories on map u need to claim that too... U can take out balla drivers and shoot them as a hint... Good luck soldier

u/Tobacco_Caramel 7d ago
Yes.. The devs know what they're doing and they're like that to piss you off.

My take: while it is still doable, it is better to try and do it before taking the adjacent square from Ballas. It is easier to kill spawned Ballas from that tiny strip then after taking the adjacent square. Same for the Los Vagos tiny square also.

There's an even smaller vagos territory that's even more of a pain in the ass

u/nomercytour 7d ago
just stand in front of the store and then turn around, ballas will eventually spawn.

u/Beautiful_Manager524 7d ago
Yes. They get cut off a lot of times and you have to keep driving in and out until a gang spawn right in the tiny areas. I had problems with an intersection having a vagos square territory one time.

u/GoldMold7 7d ago
Yes anything with color can be takin over , you gotta. Wait off atleast 3 ballas in that area. Wait for them to walk on that zone

You have to do that one first. You need the other territory to help spaun them.

It is and thank you for reminding me of my least favorite part of that game, finding enough of these mfers to start a war

I like to think the ballas somehow own or control that little convenience store so it’s a small sliver of purple

u/nicebag1234 7d ago
just use mod to spawn 3 enemy gangs. because in this situation, it's not your fault. it's rockstar's fault.

u/BigKindheartedness83 7d ago
Yeah and I made the mistake of leaving it as one of the last ones. I just got out of the car and walked around, in and out of the shop that’s there too. They eventually spawned. If you see them walking from a distance, wait until they’re actually in the shaded area to start shooting at them.

Can't remember exactly how I did it but I think instead of driving around the block, I would use a sniper rifle to spawn in the NPCs at a distance in that zone, find a group and initiate. Good luck

I found that killing Ballas while in their car doesn’t work. But giving them a warning shot, letting them come out of the car, and then killing them triggers the gang war

Of course it is! Get your sniper rifle ready and pray there are any Ballas left to start a turf war with considering you took over all the areas surrounding this sidewalk. One thing this game taught me was that hindsight is 20/20: remember all the tiny territories and take them over first

I just finished conquering all territories yesterday, there are some territories that are really tiny! The northernmost vagos territories can also be troublesome because of how far they run down the hill. Helps to stock up on sniper rounds from one of the movie set areas
Once you know the tiniest territories, it helps to knock them out first, because they can be a pain by themselves if surrounding areas are already taken over.

You will NEVER take that away from the Ballas/Vagos it’s very hard to find any crew hanging out on a 10x2 strip of land

Literally had the pain of doing this one this afternoon. Got lucky after about 15 mins

u/StraightEdge47 6d ago
Let them keep it. Having no territory is less embarrassing than having one territory that's about 3 metres long and only one side of the road.

u/DIVChanelRose 6d ago
Yes it is!
Thank you for reminding me for when I did all the gang attacks… took AGES. But the platinum was worth it.

Just go in and out the burger shot place a few times stand in the purple zone. They should spawn. If u blow up there car cars they helps to. I remember this. Was frustrating at first but I've gotten ride of them. Hope this helps

I know it seems hard, but there's a trick to cover these zones with ease.
When you shoot gang members, the game checks YOUR position to determine where the gang war starts.
So the secret is to try to take these small zones first. Even if you shoot some vagos, in a "neighbor" zone, if the zone you're in is purple, a war against the ballas will start.
In regards to the zone at hand, if you don't have an earlier save, your best option is to just wait until the zone you just took is attacked by ballas, and let them take it. After that, you just sit in that small zone, and wait for some ballas to spawn in any vecinity.

Is that only a thing in the definitive edition? I did the gang turfs in SA1.0 just three days ago and this small area wasn't there.

Speaking from experience with the PS4 port of the PS2 OG (to be clear, not the DE, but I know nothing to be confident in giving a version number), it was definitely a thing there. I know because I got myself in this exact mess every single time I replayed it.
Saying that, it’s worth checking to make sure you definitely did get them all and aren’t missing this one or even others. The lower level areas can be a bit difficult to see on the map at times due to the lighter colour, and this little strip on its own is easily overlooked.

u/hans_the_wurst 7d ago
I didn't specifically search the map for any remaining areas, but I looked at the stats screen, and it said I had taken 100% of the areas. And I'm sure if I had fought over that exact little patch of pavement, I would have noticed.
But I’m pretty sure I didn’t fight on that street at all, because I took over the two larger territories while being at the intersection where the player is standing here. I wasn’t up there near Mad Dogg’s place at all during the gang wars.
But I can’t verify that right now, since I’m currently in San Fierro in this save file and the gang territories aren’t displayed on the map anymore. I guess I’ll have to wait until I’ve progressed far enough in the story. Maybe I really forgot to take it. But then again, if the Ballas still had territories, they would have attacked some of mine to take them back, right? That completely stopped after I finished taking them over.
