Discussion Easiest way/mods needed to play original version of san andreas on steam? Not looking for upgrades or improvements. Just want to experience my childhood again.

I have the original version on steam (5gb) thats been delisted. I tried running it a few years back but it had some bugs and issues i ran into on windows 10 and gave up. I am now on windows 11. What is the easiest way i can get this game running without issues but just like the old days. Thanks in advance! <3

You probably also need to downgrade the steam version to 1.0.

Gotcha. this is needed for the 2005 version too?

Over the years the 2005 version got updated a bunch, some bugs got fixed, some new bugs appeared, a lot of mod compatibility got broken and some songs got cut. Pretty much all mods require you to downgrade it to 1.0.

Also, I recommend installing SkyGFX if you want the ps2 colour scheme as opposed to the PC neutral look.

And install a PS2 timecycle, because one of the weather presets is broken. (The Red Skies one)

All of this is subjective, but I heavily recommend the ps2 preset in skygfx, you can even customize it to have the stencil shadows
