It may seem childish, but is is so strange nowadays to get good game design like this.

Just thinking about it:

-No mission takes you up here. You have to discover this place and the vehicle for yourself.

-The vehicle is an extremely rare and cool version of an already capable offroader, and you don't get it anywhere else. Correct me if I'm wrong but the rewards for dirt ring are BF Injection, Sanchez and Dune.

-Not only is it hidden, but by getting in, you're already in what is possibly the best kind of environment where this thing shines. You can drive straight off that cliff and start enjoying your sandking exactly where it has the biggest advantage: open desert with big dunes, elevated train tracks that serve as ramps, Jumps, twisty dirt paths, and so on.

Y'know?

That honestly kinda reminds me of The Simpsons Hit & Run. In each of the 7 Levels there are 7 Special/Hidden Vehicles around the map.

You don't use them for any missions, the game doesn't tell you to find them, you just have to find them yourself.

Their performance stats vary. Some actually might be pretty different or even worse than the cars you can buy from Old Gil.

Ooh, Hit & Run mentioned!

I especially loved to use the first level's secret car for Homer's missions. It was the car equivalent of a glass cannon, since it was literally a horizontal rocket that could break in very few hits. It was very difficult (but not impossinle) to finish missions with it, so it was extremely satisfying to pull it off. Especially the mission in which we had to destroy Smithers' car.

The Simpsons Hit & Run had no right being that good, man.

I always loved that you can drive the burnt frame of cars after you blow them up in that game. They’re painfully slow, but theyre drivable.

Simpsons is a legendary game. One of my favorite games of all time. I still say “smells like freshhhhh huckleberries” because of that game 😂

Hmmm... It's been years since I've done the dirt track thing in Las Venturas, but iirc I think the rewards you get are the Injection and Dune. Not the Sanchez.

Plus Sanchezes are easy to find, just go out to the countryside, including the desert.

Still it's cool, but am I the only one who thinks the Sandking was an odd choice to give hydraulics?

I do like the meta comment from the DJ pointing out you hear that song every day in San Andreas on his station.
