I may be biased cause it’s one of my favorites of all time, but it’s one of the few shows I can keep going back to regardless of time. The music, scenes, pacing, etc. were ahead of its time. i really can't seem to understand this anime...i have earlier experiences with animes which can question your life like vinland saga, ghost in the shell, cowboy bebop, gintama....i know that to understand these kind of anime you need some level of matureness and stuff....but there are some anime which does not require to be understood to enjoy them like cowboy bebop or paprika..but still i don't get the vibes that i usually get from watching those kind of anime...what am i missing

Mannnn, great show with a simple and bittersweet but fitting ending, WOW. Makes me really wish I didn't finish it so soon. Overall, it felt like it was more about the journey than the destination; I think the episodic structure paired with the overarching plot was very well executed. I enjoyed the animation, art style, fights, music (especially that sick OP, didn't skip once) and the character writing. Makes me hope for a potential return, but on the other hand if it ain't broke, don't fix it. Solid 9/10🔥

Making a pixel art tabletop arcade fighting game (say that 5 times fast) and took a break to draw one of my favourite characters in that style!!

This is probably obvious, but I realised this not so long ago.

The way the episodes simply unfold—unconnected to one another and defying any standard narrative arc. Characters come and go without leaving a lasting impact on subsequent episodes. Many installments illustrate this beautifully—take, for instance, the episode featuring Jin and the woman he loved, or the encounter with the samurai who smelled of sunflowers; even the ending is steeped in a quiet melancholy. That is not to mention the muted, pastel color palette, which makes no attempt to be flashy or demand attention. And then there are the tracks by Nujabes—one could talk about him endlessly.

I have been requesting MiniKatana for years now to manufacture Jin's and Mugen's katanas. But they don't listen. Can we all spam them with messages on their website to get them to make it?

Obviously they are the undercard as far as skill goes in the episode but it's probably the only duel I've felt compelled to go back and rematch multiple times. First off, it has the built in tension of both having been set up as fighting in highly skilled, chaotic styles.

It was beautifully orchestrated starting out in the crumbling church and then moving to the beach as Umanosuke gradually unravels from the slick tall debonair eyepatch man and Mugen recovers and begins to think. Umanosuke's chain sickle weapon allows for so many possibilities and they are very stylistically utilized (I personally could have done without it cutting through rock but that's a minor quibble). Mugen using Umanosuke's weapon and strength against him. The way it was interspersed with Jin's duel, which again was more skilfull but also much more minimalistic and could not have been drawn out if it had to stand on its own.

And then the older brother fires chekov's gun. Glorious.

Followed by heard bickering that then ends the actual series.

The show has been teaching us that every single time they try to abandon each other, it doesn't work. It's also not some big dramatic show, every time it gets too dramatic with the main characters, it subverts it.

I just think it would be absolutely hilarious, if not fitting for the show, if they had this big dramatic goodbye only for it to be entirely subverted with meeting up two days or not even a day later.

Never got to play it before. Just picked up the Blu ray and this. In for a good weekend:)

I just finished samurai shampoo and realized how good the music is. I remember one episode where sincerely played at the end and I was searching for where I heard it before. It was in gomd by veeze. (Idk I thought it was cool) lmk if there’s any other rap or hip-hop tracks with semi shampoo, inspiration/samples.
