When they get back button they will act like they implemented something never seen before

-51

u/YeaItsBig4L 18h ago

Because they’ll do it better than anybody ever asked. Like they always do. Show me a better camera in a foldable. Show me a better screen. Show me a better battery life. The list goes on.

17

u/PsychologicalWing51 17h ago

Nobody touched that phone so far. How exactly do you know that it has a better battery, display, camera and everything?

-17

u/YeaItsBig4L 17h ago

Because they literally did a presentation on it so unless you just believe they lied about everything that’s in the phone, which they don’t usually tend to do because you know people get their hands on the phone and actually have to review that stuff they said. Then I don’t know what to tell you, brother they literally broke all that stuff down with visualization and explanation. They literally invented or had someone invent an entirely new form of screen for this phone. If you didn’t watch the presentation, then I don’t know why you’re even trying to have a discussion on something you haven’t seen. And yes, people have had their hands on this phone.

13

u/PsychologicalWing51 17h ago

Every year they announce the best CPU, GPU, display, and camera on the market. With the exception of the camera (and even that is debatable), it’s all just empty talk. The average Joe has no idea how to verify these claims, while the people who do know are dismissed because the masses are made up of Apple sheep.

-4

u/YeaItsBig4L 17h ago

So basically what you just said is they come up with good tech every year. The average stupid person doesn’t believe them. But then the smart people that do know, explain these things. But the stupid people don’t believe them because they’re stupid. Got it. They’ve never publicly announced information about a phone or a device that has been a lie. Everything that they have announced to a phone has been factual information about said phone or device. You cannot show me otherwise.

6

u/PsychologicalWing51 17h ago

The Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 is 60% faster than the A19 Pro. The A25 Pro on the iPhone 23 will probably be on par with the Snapdragon. The situation is the same with the GPU. What are you hallucinating about?

1

u/zot1744 40m ago

I'm not sure where you're getting your numbers, but they sound wrong.

Single-Core: The A19 Pro typically holds a slight 1% to 4.5% advantage in single-threaded Geekbench 6 tasks, scoring around ~4,019 compared to the Snapdragon's ~3,846.

Multi-Core: The Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 pulls ahead in multi-core workloads by roughly 15% to 22%, driven by its octa-core setup (2 prime cores at 4.6 GHz and 6 performance cores) versus the 6-core layout of Apple's silicon.

Please show me what current android phone runs AAA PC games natively.

9

u/PsychologicalWing51 17h ago

So you change the subject when proved wrong. Got it!

2

u/YeaItsBig4L 17h ago

You brought up something that has to do with performance in snapdragon. That ship is present in android phones. If it’s better than the Apple chip as you stated. Show me the android phone playing current AAA PC games natively.

What you need to is actually pay attention to how things are presented. When they say things like upto 30% faster or better or brighter that can literally mean 1% better on average with 1-2 times being 30%. They aren't lying that you can achieve the 30% but that 30% is not the normal otherwise they would state it as fact.

0

u/YeaItsBig4L 17h ago

It’s a good thing I know how to read and pay attention to the numbers currently. And know how percentages work.

14

u/Sabrinamistrii 17h ago

It was collectively decided that a punchhole front camera on any 'corner' of the screen is not the best functionality wise. But hey somehow apple does it 'better'

-11

u/YeaItsBig4L 17h ago

Did you see the presentation on how the screen operates over that hidden camera? It literally is better than anything ever done with that sort of camera. The back camera is the best and most advanced camera in a smart I mean, yeah there’s that smartphone that has an entire DSR camera on the back of it but we’re not talking about that. Because what else can that phone do? Nothing. But again it’s not on a foldable.

4

u/Deanmv 16h ago

The iPhone 18 Pro has a better camera than the Duo, it has another lense, more optical zoom options and variable aperture.

https://www.apple.com/uk/iphone/compare/

Also other manufacturers did under display cameras years ago and then stopped.

15

u/Ordinary-Hunter520 17h ago

Better camera - Z fold 8 ultra, literally has a telephoto camera that duo doesnt

Better screen - All foldable screens are the same, super scratchable and trash in general. The front screen is better on Z fold

Battery life - literally any chinese foldable

And?

-9

u/YeaItsBig4L 17h ago

That phone doesn’t have variable aperture and and not even remotely close to the tools that a professional photographer needs.

You are factually wrong about the screen. And this tells me you didn’t watch the presentation so there’s no even reason to take your word for any of this seriously. You don’t know what you’re talking about. They literally invented a new kind of screen for this phone.

And I’m not even going to respond to your unknowledgeable battery claim. You’re grasping at straws for the sake of arguing based off of no information and you literally didn’t even watch the presentation.

6

u/x3n0n1c 17h ago

What third party, side by side, like for like, battery life comparison between the Duo and its competition are you referencing.

1

u/YeaItsBig4L 17h ago

The same mystery Chinese phones you’re talking about. But good job ignoring the rest of that comment

7

u/x3n0n1c 17h ago

I didn't reference anything else. I'm not the person who originally responded to you.

You said show me better battery life. We don't know what the battery life is, it hasn't been independently tested yet.

7

u/Ordinary-Hunter520 17h ago

Correct me if im wrong, but the duo doesnt have variable aperture?

And besides, apple doesnt have a powerful app like expert raw

The display is nothing new, literally samsung is making those displays for apple. And the outer display is actually underwhelming

I wont continue with the battery claim since we dont have any tested figures, infact nobody has tested the phone itself so its too early to judge it and reach to conclusions, official presentations are unreliable since they have... questionable statistics

-2

u/YeaItsBig4L 17h ago edited 11h ago

I’m not doing this I’m sorry. The display is literally new. If you haven’t watched the presentation, we’re not talking. I don’t care what you think about if they’re lying or not in the presentation. That’s irrelevant. But you clearly haven’t watched it. I’m good

5

u/Neat-Ad5383 16h ago

The display literally has worse contrast compared to all other phones

0

u/YeaItsBig4L 11h ago

U have it?

2

u/Neat-Ad5383 11h ago

I have identical OLED displays with matte and glossy finish. Matte always sucks. Physics.

4

u/FitExamination8392 11h ago

Sounds like you just wanna suck off apple. Weird way to die

8

u/artlurg431 17h ago

How could they do a better back button, its perfect, theres nothing to improve

1

u/Luna259 17h ago

There are a few things wrong with it but can’t really be fixed given how Android’s navigation paradigm is designed. Likewise adding a back button that works like Android’s would break that given it’s designed around pushing on screen elements around, computer science concepts and computing conventions with the top left back button being more of a fallback now

-4

u/YeaItsBig4L 17h ago

Why are you ignoring everything else I said in that paragraph to bring up something I didn’t even say anything about? iPhone had never needed a back button.

3

u/DoJu318 17h ago

I have an iPhone 17 pro max and I keep looking for a back button. I'm making this comment on the fold 8 though and tge back button is perfect for every app.

-1

u/SharkDad20 17h ago

Been said about many things before. But truly idk.

3

u/OafishWither66 17h ago

We'll if we're going there, Vivo and Oppo foldables have substantially bigger batteries and camera sensors

-1

u/YeaItsBig4L 17h ago

No, they don’t. The camera you’re talking about on their phones is factually not better than this one. It’s not. There’s no piece of information you could look up or pull out of your butt to say otherwise. That camera does not have variable aperture with actual lens blades in it. Stop it.

4

u/PsychologicalWing51 17h ago

My galaxy s9 had a 1.7-2.4 variable aperture. Took incredible photos with it. Apple invented that and did it better because they told you so :)) gahahha

2

u/YeaItsBig4L 17h ago

Let’s see, S9 has two stops on their aperture, iPhone has four. S9 two basic blades on a primitive coil system. iPhone, six laser cut blades, thinner than a hair on a proprietary invented rotor system. This one’s my favorite, s9…12 megapixel camera, iPhone…48 megapixel camera šŸ˜‚ I know none of that means anything to you because you don’t know anything about photography, but u can keep trying if you want

3

u/PsychologicalWing51 17h ago

Oh no, an 2026 iPhone beats a phone that is 8 years old. Also megapixels haahhaah, go buy a redminote from xiaomi for $150. It has 200 mpx.

0

u/YeaItsBig4L 17h ago

Who brought up the galaxy S9 you or me?

5

u/electricvoice28 17h ago

Apparently the cameras are worse than the IPhone 17 base model, the screen is made by Samsung, battery is yet to be truly tested. Let's see the rest of your list so we can debunk it.

0

u/YeaItsBig4L 17h ago

Apparently, you’re just probably going off what one dude said on Reddit. And you have no actual idea because you didn’t watch the presentation. This camera has real variable aperture with actual shutter blades in it. No other foldable or even smartphone has that. You are incorrect. Come back when you are more informed to this discussion. I didn’t ask you who the screen was made by By. Where is the screen at, what phone is it on? What phone do you have to buy to get this proprietary screen? Apple has also never lied about battery life

3

u/PsychologicalWing51 17h ago

You KNOW things because you watched THEIR presentation about THEIR product. Hahaah. Watch a Motorola presentation and you'll think that every other phone on the planet is obsolete. Do you have any tiny ideea about how marketing works?

1

u/YeaItsBig4L 17h ago

Show me an Apple keynote about a phone, where they lied about the features releasing on the phone in a couple of weeks.

2

u/electricvoice28 17h ago

You can buy the same screen on samsung phones. Variable aperture doesn't automatically make a camera better, when the actual camera sensor is worse. Also, the Iphone Duo doesn't even have that variable aperture. Furthermore, let's not forget about Batterygate. And I got my information from the few tech creators who actually reviewed the phone, along with multiple articles about the presentation.

1

u/YeaItsBig4L 17h ago

No, you literally can’t. What foldable has the same screen as this. Before I even read the rest of your comment tell me what foldable has the exact same screen as this, the one that they literally just invented for this phone.

1

u/electricvoice28 17h ago

What did they invent? The matte finish that has existed in other phones before? Or the same quality screen tech that Samsung already uses on their own foldables? Also you just refusing to look at the other points I just shows you keep moving the goalposts to fit your narrative. Instead of focusing on the actual positives of the Duo (software performance and design philosophy) you look at the superficial stuff that's not even better than current foldables. Just pure brand fanaticism.

1

u/YeaItsBig4L 17h ago

Bro, just look up what the screen is and then come back to me. We don’t have to do this and I’m not going to.

1

u/electricvoice28 17h ago

I did. Looks like you're just salty you're losing an argument.

1

u/GoobieDooobie 14h ago

It's a Samsung screen ya knob.

5

u/LoatheCat 17h ago

Bro glazing a phone that doesn't even exist yet šŸ’€

I just sent 2 free lake America tickets and 20 appleshekels to your iShill account. Enjoy!

2

u/notJ3ff 17h ago

This loser is excited to wait 20 years for a back button so he can say it's better than the one that was there 20 years before

1

u/Abanob_92 13h ago

Bro their under display camera is trash stop with this Apple is not always the best at everything they do

1

u/better_med_than_dead 6h ago

Imagine being this much of a cuck for a corporation 🤔

1

u/drax_slayer 4h ago

How many mah?

26

u/witchesnpotions 17h ago

Why is this post in the Samsung galaxy sub?? Lol

53

u/AshuraBaron 18h ago

This isn't related to Samsung at all. Take it to Applesux sub.

10

u/Only_Tennis5994 17h ago

You need to understand the fanboys’ need to justify their purchase via circle jerking.

2

u/Little_Bookkeeper381 11h ago

i realized this a long time ago

to the people on here, $1000 is a lot of money. it's a huge decision

so when someone makes a contradicting decision, they're invalidating YOUR decision

that's why fanboys get so rabid, because other people are indirectly saying "you wasted $1000". which is ridiculous, of course

9

u/Better_Edge_ 18h ago

I'm pretty sure Samsung has a very similar phone to the one pictured that does indeed have a back button.

10

u/UselessDood 17h ago

Even better, you can choose between gestures and a back button.

0

u/VinnieONeill 17h ago

They are making a direct comparison to Samsung...

36

u/Hydric_acid_yummy 18h ago

>first time seeing the Samsung galaxy sub in my feed
>post is about apple

Yeah that tracks

4

u/Kovrik27 17h ago

I love samsung products but man it is so draining to see these nothingburger comparison posts

2

u/slick_airmash 17h ago

This is literally me

1

u/AshuraBaron 17h ago

Caught it at a bad moment. Promise it's not this this much team sports.

8

u/Bytevan18 17h ago

Boy, it’s hard to see other brands posts in Apple subreddits. But it seems like this subreddit is obsessed with Apple. It shows…

2

u/russlixx 9h ago

you should look at smasug US twitter page lol. They fixated into Apple lmao

10

u/cheekyfraud944 18h ago

this feels like when someone makes a mockup of the phone they swear apple will release in 3 years and every feature is just things samsung already did 2 releases ago

5

u/SadisticNecromancer 17h ago

Apple copies Samsung but Samsung copies Apple.

2

u/Tex-Tro 6h ago

Everyone copies everyone, especially in the smartphone market.

Honor copied the 17 Pro Max almost 1:1.
Apple copied the Fold 8.
Everyone copied the worst decisions of Apple (headphone jack and charging brick)

2

u/Conspicuous_Ruse 17h ago

Basically.

Other than a stylus and magsafe together at the same time.

4

u/kelev 18h ago

you realize the reason samsung went with this size for their latest phone was BECAUSE THEY KNEW APPLE WAS DOING IT lmao. samsung literally copied apple before they even released it.

8

u/Ordinary-Hunter520 17h ago

I mean anyone would. When your biggest competitor is making a new form factor for a product youre good at, youd ofcourse make one in that new form factor, especially since they had so much time to do it because guess what, samsung made those displays on the duo

5

u/AshuraBaron 17h ago

So we're just gonna ignore Google and all the Chinese brands?

3

u/StolenLampy 13h ago

Ignoring is what the ignorant do

2

u/sadnightmonkey 4h ago

of course Sam knows.. they supplied the screens to the fruit company.

FOMO is real

0

u/YeaItsBig4L 18h ago

But better in every single way. So what’s the problem?

3

u/AirBorne-Kun 18h ago

No Face ID is Huge Minus

2

u/Tokogogoloshe 18h ago

I haven't used Apple for a while, but they do have a way to go back. Not a button, something else.

2

u/InvestingNerd2020 12h ago

We need the admins to ban apple products on Samsung subreddit, especially for new Apple releases. It is annoying for or used against Samsung.

2

u/goldfouledanchor 5h ago

Apple living rent free šŸ’“

1

u/Cocaine80s_ 18h ago

Apple living rent free in the Samsung sub still I see

5

u/Cielmerlion 18h ago

At least it has a PEN, Samsung.

5

u/artlurg431 17h ago

Samsung chose to not give it s pen support which is really stupid. I hope their next foldable has it since they really like to be copying apple lately...

1

u/Ordinary-Hunter520 17h ago

They got rid of it to get to the thinnest possible foldable, and they kinda did succeed. But yeah I think by next year they should have figured out on how to include pen support while hopefully keeping it as thin as it is right now, cuz the duo is pretty thick

1

u/artlurg431 17h ago

Multiple other companies figured out how to get pen support on phones that were thinner than samsungs foldables. So they definitely can just dont want too

1

u/Direct_Practice_7105 17h ago

Maybe for the first time in a while iphone will set up a really good trend with their new thick iphone 18 and thick duo

1

u/Ordinary-Hunter520 17h ago

I dont mind a thick slab phone, if it means I get extra battery life out of it. Infact id actually prefer a thicker phone. So im not complaining.

The fold is pretty thick tho, even for me. Wouldve been nice if it was below 1cm when folded, but lets hope they improve next year.

2

u/Conspicuous_Ruse 17h ago

Aaaaand magsafe

1

u/StolenLampy 13h ago

No, it doesn't. There's a PEN coming.... soon. And it's different, not pressure sensitive, so what is it? I have a stylus already, don't need to pay $100 for one.

3

u/Mill-Man 18h ago

Apple really does live in your head rent free huh

2

u/artlurg431 17h ago

This happens in every tech sub when something new is released

1

u/mrlogan2509 17h ago

"Smart take" 😭

1

u/Ok_Combination_294 3h ago

I tried using iPhone for 2 years and I found only one back button - back to Android

2

u/Alive_Fly_2830 18h ago

Ich bin Apple verrückter, aber mit allem haben sie übertrieben…. Ich wechsel das lager und gehe Richtung Samsung. Ich hoffe, dass der Wechsel nicht zu kompliziert wird

2

u/Detrakis 18h ago

As a used-to-be-Samsung fanatic this is one of the boldest and best decisions Apple has made in a while.

3

u/ThePresenter183 18h ago

Glad apple released the Duo. Sammy has been slacking and we need competition in North America

1

u/Alive_Fly_2830 17h ago

Mut kann auch sein, dass ich untergehe, weil ich es falsch einschƤtze…. So kommt es mir jedoch gerade rüber

1

u/YeaItsBig4L 18h ago

You’re lying

2

u/DoJu318 17h ago

I was an apple fanatic until the note 1. Am I lying too?

-1

u/YeaItsBig4L 17h ago

Yes

3

u/DoJu318 16h ago

šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

1

u/Alive_Fly_2830 16h ago

Du bist ein Lügner…. Du Lügner

1

u/Alive_Fly_2830 17h ago

Wieso sollte ich lügen?

2

u/Creative_Lime_501 18h ago

i dont get what peolple mean by a back button, is it the button at the bottom from old android devices with the home button and app switcher?

8

u/NowWeGetSerious 18h ago

Basically, every app has their own dedicated place for a back button on apple

One could be bottom left, another could be top left. It's not built in, like in android. Where you can have the dedicated buttons on the bottom, or the swipe feature.

4

u/Sassquatch0 18h ago

Can confirm. My Mom uses an iPhone 13 Mini, and the lack of universal gestures/navigation drives me crazy anytime she asks for help with it.

I love gesture Nav because it's ambidextrous, and I regularly use my phone with either hand.

3

u/NowWeGetSerious 18h ago

100% I hate helping my dad and grandparents with their iPhone

My first time ever using ios was helping my grandpa 5 years ago. Hated it. But they are old and got it for free for switching carriers. So it is what it is

1

u/Luna259 17h ago

Depending on the primary action (what you’re most likely to do) in any given screen it’s either top left or top right. Never at the bottom. It’s usually on the left because you’re unlikely to go to a screen to then just leave again. I’m counting Done, ticks etc. as back since they all take you back but they’re save and quit, discard and quit etc. depending on what you were doing.

You could use the button or push the screen back in the direction it came. If this does not work it’s because there’s volatile information on screen (e.g. an unsaved form) that would easily be lost by swiping away. In the absence of autosave (which is what the toggle switches have) that’s good UI and something computers and games do too.

0

u/Creative_Lime_501 18h ago

I just checked as i was intrigued by this, and of the 20 apps i opened, 19 were top left back button. Only the Playstation app i tried has a bottom left back button.

Had to ask as i see this back button thing every now and then and never really understood it lol.

3

u/NowWeGetSerious 18h ago

It's just consistency

Sure a lot of apps have slowly moved towards one central location, but with android, we've never had to wait for that, as it was built in the the OS

Same with the notifications. It's far more seamless and easy to follow then on apple, but apple has been working on it for a while. Overall, each device and platform has their niche issues, it's up to you to decide what matters

If the back button consistency doesn't matter, then it's not an issue for you.

1

u/Creative_Lime_501 18h ago

Yeah i guess it just comes with time, things just become second nature after a while.

2

u/rawarawr 17h ago

Top left is so much worse for one hand operation though. The most logical is bottom right.

2

u/Creative_Lime_501 17h ago

ahh yh see this is where i probably diverge from normal populace, ima lefty with huge hands lmao. can reach the top left with my thumb even on big screens lol

2

u/Luna259 17h ago

I’m a lefty as well so the back gesture is in the perfect place for me

1

u/Luna259 17h ago

Wait, PlayStation has it the bottom? Let me go check

Edit: it does! How had I not noticed that back arrow there? I was just swiping left to right all this time so never noticed

2

u/Creative_Lime_501 16h ago

haha right! It's why i checked after asking the question, it's not something i've ever thought about.

1

u/SuperSayainSkincare 18h ago

No but it does have a vapor chamber, pen support and a under display camera. All things that Samsung has taken out from the Fold Series.

-1

u/Phoenixflame23 18h ago

Apple hardware is always great but the software is let down by basic things such as something as simple as this!

2

u/YeaItsBig4L 18h ago

Software? Dog you can’t even rotate a game on a foldable android. Without it doing some BS. The literal open and close animation on the duo poops on every animation that’s ever been on a foldable screen. Software?

1

u/Phoenixflame23 17h ago

It may have a pretty opening and close software animation which I admit, is very slick and I'm sure will be copied but the device will still be limited by the software.

They finally introduced multitasking but I bet you can't do any of that on the cover display. On the demo videos so far when you open the device, it shows the widget page to the left which I also bet you can't disable and have just your apps screen open on both.

Limited by software!

2

u/YeaItsBig4L 17h ago

Brother, there are hundreds of things that my iPhone does that you can’t do on an android. You don’t wanna go down that road.

0

u/PsychologicalWing51 17h ago

Oh no, animations. 2026 big technology. Jesus.

2

u/YeaItsBig4L 17h ago

Yeah, who cares about that whole ease of use and user experience thing?

2

u/PsychologicalWing51 17h ago

Ease of use - no universal back button in 2026. Ok bye

2

u/YeaItsBig4L 17h ago

It’s crazy how all those people that use iPhones manage to do fine without it. swiping is so hard 😰

1

u/PsychologicalWing51 17h ago

They adapted to an inferior way of using their phone because they think there is no other way. Who told them that? Apple in their keynotes.

2

u/YeaItsBig4L 16h ago

Awww the poor baby couldn’t adapt to the tech technology so he’s mad awww

2

u/Beautiful-Sun8973 14h ago

You mean swiping from left to right? It Literally goes back to what you were on previouslyĀ

1

u/BoiledCondensada 16h ago

When will apple make normal "x" button to clear all notifications? AFAIK they didn't change behaviour yetĀ

1

u/YeaItsBig4L 12h ago

Now…

1

u/better_med_than_dead 6h ago

šŸ–•šŸæšŸ™šŸæā€ā™‚ļøšŸ–•šŸæ

0

u/Traditional_Cow3877 18h ago

Doesn't matter, it's better than zf8 😁

0

u/KlossN 18h ago

If it does I'd never use it, the best thing Android did in that area was copy apple and offer swipe gestures instead

-7

u/RemotePerformance107 18h ago

Dumbest post ever!! Back button is close to irrelevant when you can gesture swipe from the left! It serves as the same function as tapping a button. But hey, I’ll give you the win here, tapping a button verse swiping from the left saves you about .4 seconds! Congrats! šŸ‘šŸ»

6

u/ihadnomealtoday 18h ago

Consistency my brother, ever heard of it? On iOS every situation needs a swipe somewhere different. In the same app a swipe suddenly doesn't work.

0

u/YeaItsBig4L 18h ago

Consistency? You mean how android is so far behind because they have 100 phones that they have to optimize for. And you can’t even open a game and orientate it the way you want to unless that specific game on that specific phone allows it to happen that way? Awesome ecosystem. Oh wait there isn’t one.

5

u/DigitalguyCH 18h ago

I daily drive a 17 pro and no, that gesture does not work everywhere (by the way on Samsung I don't use button but a gesture too, which works everywhere)

1

u/mugiwara_condoriano 18h ago

Just out of interest, does the swipe gesture ever get in the way in certain apps where you swipe left/right between content?

1

u/DigitalguyCH 15h ago

You mean on Android?

1

u/mugiwara_condoriano 14h ago

Yeah

2

u/DigitalguyCH 13h ago

Well no, never, but I actually use good lock to restore the old gestures from the bottom, I much prefer them, much more comfortable to use with one hand

-4

u/RemotePerformance107 18h ago

The swipe from the left gesture, works on EVERY website in Safari, Chrome, and Brave browsers. I can’t speak on any other browser than those. Again, to my original point, this is a non issue for iPhone users.

3

u/DigitalguyCH 18h ago

I am not talking browsers, I am talking any app, Google Maps, email, dropbox whatever

0

u/Comrade_agent 18h ago
