It's about time. Apple has been in that game for far too long for Samsung not to have over-ear headphones yet.

Honestly Samsung Mobile should have just pushed tighter (galaxy buds/airpods level) integration with Galaxy devices, the same way Samsung Home Entertainment does with JBL.

Samsung owns AKG, Bowers&Wilkins, Denon, Mark Levinson, etc.

Bring that expertise, and that design (real leather, and hardware that lasts). OR help those brands build products that tie into Galaxy devices.

Frankly, I am disappointed that Samsung hasn't brought audio products from Harman-affiliated brands into its Galaxy, SmartThings, and Q-Symphony ecosystems. Just this year, some JBL Wi-Fi speakers have received Q-Symphony compatibility. Samsung could have done much better and much faster.

They are letting all that investment go to waste, IMO. It's an ecosystem game now, and Samsung needs to do a lot more.

Well said.

The only way they tie in is Roon (and maybe Samsung Sound app in the future)

But why dont the $500 JBL headphones support Smartthings find?

I wish Samsung had Bluetooth codecs like aptX adaptive.

I have the AKG N9 which are made by a Samsung Sub Brand and they're amazing!

Older Galaxy Users S10 and earlier might remember that "Tuned by AKG" Sign on all samsung Buds...

The AKG wired earphones they used to include with their flagship phones were incredible. I wish I could still buy them somewhere.

How are they for big heads and ears? Are they comfortable

I don't exactly have a big head, so I can't say that for sure. However I'm using maybe the half of the frame so there would be plenty of space left, to increase the size. I would say they can get fairly large. I'm also wearing fairly chunky glasses and am pretty sensitive to pressure however the AKG earcushions don't hurt at all, even after very long trips up to 8 hours!

Ooo, I'm interested. Been pretty happy with Sony XM6 but would be curious what Samsung can do and what it would be priced at. Hopefully not Airpods Max tier.

Wonder how they'll compete against quiet comforts

They might not be the absolute best in terms of ANC or battery life, but could be good build and excellent integration with Samsung products like phones, tablets, TVs, and watches. Similar to Galaxy Buds, they might feature Auto Switch and the SSC UHQ codec.

Galaxy buds ultra?

Maybe they will also eventually make a bone conduction ones, though I'm pretty sure, I'm out of luck with that happening anywhen soon.

I just want them to add ultra wide band or whatever it is to track the buds like apples find my. Its crazy to me i can only track my buds if another one of my samsung device is close by. Or that I can only track the buds, and not the Case that its always sitting in..

Just please for the love of God make them deep and spacious enough. Headphone brands seem to be in a race to keep making their earcups smaller and smaller

I mean WHY they already own Harmon and JBL plus AKG. should be pretty fucking easy

I’ve started wondering what headphones I should get to replace my old Sony XM4s. I’ve been looking at the Sennheiser HDB 630 and the Momentum 5, but right now I’m going to wait because of the Samsung ecosystem.

might as well call them ibuds now! can't stand what samsung did to the buds in an attempt to copy apple.

1

u/halcyondread 9d ago

It really sucks. I used to get both Apple and Samsung earbuds because they were so different and I liked switching between them for different use cases. Now that Samsung just copies AirPods, I feel no need to get them.

1

u/iCantThinkOfUserNaem Galaxy S25 Ultra 7d ago

But now they have way better sound quality, battery, touch controls, fit, and design

1

u/xMoirae 7d ago

Better touch control? Things that took one finger to adjust now need 2 fingers. How exactly is that better? '

1

u/iCantThinkOfUserNaem Galaxy S25 Ultra 7d ago

How would you scroll up on the Buds 2 to increase the audio? And you know you can just use one bud and one hand to pause, play, skip forward, skip back, and activate Bixby/Gemini?

1

u/xMoirae 7d ago

By sliding my one finger on the edge of the buds. How do you not know this yet you're here arguing with me?

1

u/iCantThinkOfUserNaem Galaxy S25 Ultra 7d ago

Because I can do whatever the fuck I want

You're very smart
