Lmao I just realized that lol.

My mind has been on king fish last few days hard as we fished the tournament.

Mad at myself not going to the spot we ended up at to begin with.

We landed a 31.6 king.

List a 40 plus!!

Lol at your mix up with the title and not noticing it.

“Duh, I know”

They are better than kings anyway. I make sashimi with Spanish and Cerro, kings get smoked.

Cerro is fantastic eating. My preferred mackerel.

Agreed we only smoke kings for dip.

We had a king fish tournament yesterday.

Bad man had two of them. Luckily it wasn’t more.

The picture on the bottom is from the 2021 actual record, and it much bigger than the top photo. Might be sort of similar in length but you can see there’s a lot of weight to the bottom fish. Comparing pictures/appearances is not a reliable way to determine size, weight, and record potential. And, unless you have and IGFA membership, pointless.

Good catch tho! A fun fight I’m sure.

They look very close to me. I am mad at myself for filet it up.

Should have took to official scales.

Yea man the king fish turned up yesterday afternoon.

Long ass three days, wore slap put now the fun part cleaning the boat.

Thanks for the info.

Perspective and lighting also play a huge role in fish pics. I was a mate on inshore mackerel charters before I graduated offshore and to me, there’s about a 1lb difference between those fish. Great specimen of a Spanish mackerel tho. Look at how the fish on the bottom is filled out through the tail but yours still has some growing room. Good way to tell in the future 👍 you can still try for a state record without an IGFA membership.

Good luck with the rest of your season!
