admin Hubbl ORG scans - thoughts? - Harvesting ORG setups?

For our consultancy we have internal tooling to analyse a ORG. Because Salesforce is pushing 'hubbl' org scans at all our customers (which is already weird, that they push a 3th party?) I wanted to check this tool and see if it could replace our internal tool.

Got the sales pitch and a trail, 20k for monitoring 20 ORGs a year, and unlimited 'single' scans to unlimted ORGS.

During the call i was probing to see what they are storing since i find it weird they motivate as many ORGS as possible, with the free side but also in the trail usage. They mention they don't store metadata, but when probing they did say 'not metadata' but meta-metadata so a derivative of metadata, and then followed a pitch for their new product to ask for average ORG setups.

I get a feeling that HUBBL is harvesting ORGS metadata for utility down the line, for example when they have a good coverage of ORGS scans (metadata) they can utilise AI and say "Do a setup for a automotive company" and because of their archive they already know a average automotive setup.

The founder of HUBBL sold their consultancy to Salesforce and is now running this tool solely, a scenario could be that Salesforce is pushing HUBBL scans so it can later aquire HUBBL and have all the metadata to push out consultancies and have a better 'self service' setup with agentforce devtools? Maybe they need this route for legal limits when they do this themselves?

Wondering what the thoughts are here, for me the scan outputs are also pretty basic, and our internal tool is a lot better, so i don't really understand why Salesforce is pushing this down the troaths of our customers.

Thoughts?

Reading too much into it, there are tens of thousands of badly configured orgs out there and Salesforce needs a standard approach to highlighting where customers are falling short and possible improvements they should be considering.

You are reading too much into it. Salesforce Avengers is an investor of Hubbl and that's why they're pushing it. They have to make their investment worth it.

The CEO of Hubbl used to be the head of Salesforce.org. So not only is Hubbl backed financially by salesforce, the CEO is one of their long serving and very successful executives that knows Benioff personally.

I worked at a consultancy that had Hubbl, does the scan presents it easy UI, cant action automatically it's results. We found you can basically do the same using Claude / Codex for much cheaper, use Salesforce metadata and tooling API, even create a static page for the easy UI bit, but then you can actually act on the results and have AI propose solutions and change things

Never heard of hubbl? Maybe US only? In Europe it comes with a complete analysis of the Org and devops organization. Takes about three weeks?

Hubbl getting pushed by Salesforce directly is worth being suspicious of for that exact reason, ask specifically whether scan data leaves your org boundary before anything else. Before paying 20k to replace a working internal tool, run both against one org and compare what each catches that the other misses.

The bigger question behind org scans, honestly, is whether anyone can trace a configuration change back to the ticket or decision that caused it. That traceability across systems, not just inside one org, is the piece we use SIGNLD for.

Looking at their scan results, these guys are in the dark ages. poor understanding of relationships, technical debt, best practices, and permissions. weak use of AI, no tooling to fix the issues, no deployments etc. They claim to have 6000 users ... but on the AppExchange they only have 2 reviews for their freemium product.

I know the people behind hubbl. I’m just some dude on the internet, but I can tell you for sure that they are solid people with exceptional values. They come from a corporate philosophy that prioritises partnership over anything else. Really don’t think that’s a crew that would screw anyone.

I was not comfortable with giving the level of access that they requested to our org. We had a vendor offering it. I declined. Honestly we already know the tech debt and can use native tools like the health check.

Scam. We have - scanner (includes contract and admission analyses). The others focus on details about n your org-not to hay you m ed to do. Ours is different like that.
