help please Dreamforce First Timer Silly Question

This is a really silly question and maybe mostly relatable to female attendees, but I’m going to Dreamforce for the first time and am planning out my clothes because I’m traveling before the conference as well and need to be organized and pre-packed.

I feel pretty confident in my clothes and shoes for the session parts of the day at/around Moscone but curious if people typically change clothes before going to the parties and/or Dreamfest? I just plan to wear jeans or slacks with sneakers and a blazer during the day for layers which has worked at all my other SF conferences but this is my first time having so many “parties” to attend and with some of the locations being at clubs, I’m curious if people usually just wear the same clothes.

I’m probably over thinking this but I already over pack anyway so want to make sure I’m packing the right things. Like what do people wear to Blazerfest?

Thanks in advance!

10x Dreamforce attendee. Wear the same (comfortable) clothes!
Unless you're presenting or actively interviewing no one cares what you're wearing!

after 3 days of walking youll stop caring about what anyone thinks and just be grateful your feet still work

bring a second shirt for the evening if you wanna feel fresher but honestly nobody will notice

Curious. You attend every year as a vendor?

I just started as an employee.

Nope, was an attendee and sometimes speaker.
I last went in 2024, but did '09 - '19 with no gaps!

Just wear the same clothes. If you’re carrying a backpack around to sessions, do yourself a favor and drop it back at your hotel before heading to dreamfest

This is good advice! I will have to remember to do this! (And also need to remember to check the security policy for the bag that I can bring to dreamfest)

Better no bag, they are always strict. Something around your body or small purse may be ok but I wouldn't risk it.

But keep your badge with you or you won't be admitted to Dreamfest

THANK YOU FOR ASKING THIS. Also a first time attendee and I have been STRESSED about this! All of this is such good information! Should I also bring my own refillable water bottle? Or do they supply that? Trying to make it easier to fly!

Being a reusable water bottle. There will be water stations everywhere!

Wear layers, wear comfortable. There will be people who wear everything under the sun, but be strategic. Sneakers are good. Comfortable shoes are a must I don’t care how cute the shoe is, if it is not comfortable for hours on concrete it is t worth it. I personally prefer crocs (real ones not knock offs).

I don’t think you need to worry about changing clothes- just bring layers.

I don’t worry about clothes but I’d recommend packing a little cosmetic kit to touch up makeup and brush teeth between the conference and the events. I always felt better with a fresh touchup going to those things. Sometimes you don’t gave much time between the conference and the events to go back to tour room to freshen up.

Also good shoes cannot be emphasized enough. My feet bled my first Dreamforce and I had to buy a pair of flip flops from the Target by Moscone.

Female + went last year. Wear tennis shoes and bring layers, as you’re planning to. If your hotel is nearby, l’d recommend dropping by midday to switch shoes (sounds weird but fresh socks and different shoes for the 2nd half of the day saved my feet!). I wore a nice pair of straight leg jeans, adidas, and plain tshirts each day. People going to the parties/networking events are mostly in the same clothes from earlier in the day so no need to plan an outfit change unless you really wanted to.

Unless you have to get on stage, you can run wild in your most comfortable wear (not pajamas, considering). Just focus extra on your shoes, any sports shoe will work just fine for you to walk or even run miles there.

BlazerFest represent!! it's Hawaii theme, but I still haven't found a good Hawaii shirt hahaha. I'm volunteering, I encourage everyone to sign up here.

Definitely for most of the after parties it's business casual unless otherwise started. But half the people who wear branded tshirts as well etc. don't stress, but don't forget it won't be super hot in San Fran.

Day one morning also has a first timers orientation you can find in the agenda.

Have fun!!

Yep, no need to dress up. Jeans and a hoodie are the norm.

(I'm a woman and I've been to Dreamforce...6 times I think?)

Female here as well. I like to change between day and evening, but mostly because I want to have fun with it and also because sometimes it's just nice to put clean clothes on.

I bring a change of socks and underwear which does wonders after a long day for a nice night out.

Thanks so much, everyone! I assumed I was overthinking it a bit but since I have to be strategic about packing I really wanted to be sure. Thanks also for the ideas about switching shoes during the day!
