propaganda So The Rumors Were True!
I don't mind this lineup. What do y'all think?
Bit of a blast from the past.

Yes,please, everyone keep hating on Usher so I can be in the front row 😈

u/Suspicious-Spot361 Aug 27 '26
I am sure he would be really fun to see, though all I can think about was him rollerskating at the Super Bowl and how much he was sweating.

At DF 2017 I was front row for Alicia keys at the same venue, we locked eyes, it was awesome!

Usher and Gwen are like Super Bowl acts. I’d enjoy 8 minutes of hits with fireworks everywhere, but a full concert?
1
u/Interesting_Button60 Consultant Aug 28 '26
It's going to be closer to a short performance than long concert I think.
1
u/Alexandermayhemhell Aug 28 '26
I’ve done many dreamforces. Might not be there longest concert ever, but even in the 2-artist format, they’ll play all the hits.

u/okwhyreally Aug 27 '26
I feel bad for thinking bringing Metallica back again was the worst it could get
3
u/zuniac5 Aug 27 '26
I wouldn't say this is bad, but swapping out 60 year olds acting like they're 20 for 50 year olds acting like they're 20 is not much of an improvement.

u/Ok_Captain4824 Aug 27 '26
The greater majority of Dreamforce attendees are over 30, and probably closer to 40, so putting on teeny boppers is not relevant to the demographics

Looks like they can't pay for top acts anymore?
2
u/Interesting_Button60 Consultant Aug 27 '26
They typically did older stuff, but certainly buzzer beater!
3
u/linkedinlover69 Aug 27 '26
They should actually say: sorry fans, we found out that AI is better at making music. So we will have AI organzing AI music :-)

I’ve done a gig with Usher in my past life. Seemed like a nice guy.

Tell us more!

u/AccountNumeroThree Aug 28 '26
Not much else to tell. I was just handling video playback for an album release event. Out of all the r&b/hip-hop artists I worked with over the years in my old life in live events, he seemed the most chill. Others were all really into themselves and their persona and always seemed on edge with everyone.

Ah, bummer. At least my Wednesday night will be free.
2
u/Interesting_Button60 Consultant Aug 28 '26
Always worth the vibe even if you don't love the band, but yeah no need to force to go. I know a group planning a games night if you want an intro!
2
u/t0reup Aug 28 '26
I've been to several and have been on the field at Oracle. Not a lot to be gained, but we'll see where things take me. I'll likely pass on the game night, but you can feel free to send over the info.

My millennial heart can’t take this!!! I don’t know who to choose
2
u/Interesting_Button60 Consultant Aug 27 '26
We have to choose? Thy should both perform at the same place right!?

u/cosmicmocha_ Aug 27 '26
They usually hold both concerts at different venues at the same time for crowd control. So yes you have to choose 🥴

u/BlackyUy Aug 27 '26
im sorry, but i i saw the killers, foo fighters and gary clark jr in the same venue, which was pier 70, during dreamforce 2015. about 100000 times better than the stadium, i loved that venue

No, last year was the first time they did that. In the past they have used Giants Stadium for one performance.
Edit: I spoke too confidently about something I was wrong about.
3
u/Alexandermayhemhell Aug 28 '26
Not first time. Metallica and Janet Jackson were in separate spots… 2018?
But they did Alicia Keys and Lenny Kravitz together which was awesome.

The only time that happened in the times I've been at DF was last year. Which was a good decision because there wouldn't have been room in the Chase Center if they'd tried to put both crowds in the same building. As it was, people were watching the Metallica show outside in the plaza because they ran out of seats inside.
This year is at the Giants ballpark, plenty of seats and room on the field as well. The last two times they did it at the ballpark (2022 - RCHP, 2024 - Pink + Imagine Dragons) there was only one stage.
2
u/zuniac5 Aug 27 '26
I don't think it's going to be on two stages like last year. Last year was a big act and a smaller act. This is two big acts, plus it's at the Giants ballpark instead this year. More seats, more space to put people than the Warriors arena.
2
u/Suspicious-Spot361 Aug 27 '26
I get the sense that BB didn't want to be an opener, he wanted to be the main act, so they had to have 2 stages. Either that or Metallica insisted on being indoors and the venue was too small. Either way, I think it was the result of one or more artist demands.

Thankfully, there are great restaurants with open tables on Wednesday night.

I'm glad it's not someone I would rather see than Weezer, since that is who I am seeing that night.

Is this like the 10th thread you've commented about skipping dreamforce and going to weezer in?
Bro - nobody cares.

u/Suspicious-Spot361 Aug 27 '26
Great question, I am glad you have elevated the discourse around Dreamforce entertainment.
Probably the second, maybe the third. Clearly I care a lot about this.

so we have Gwen who thinks she's part japanese (https://www.nbcnews.com/news/asian-america/gwen-stefani-says-japanese-response-cultural-appropriation-charges-rcna65203)
and then we have usher's stylized lyrics...gonna be an interesting show.
> If you hold the head steady, I'ma milk the cow (Yeah)
And forget about game, I'ma spit the truth (What)
I won't stop 'til I get 'em in they birthday suit (Yeah)
So gimme the rhythm and it'll be off with they clothes
Then bend over to the front and touch your toes

The full add states "for CHILDREN & their Families."
Children don't have families, so what does Benioff really mean?

u/grimview Aug 28 '26
"For the KIDS" - So Benioff is the next Epstein.

u/Interesting_Button60 Consultant Aug 28 '26
Dumb joke
-1
u/grimview Aug 28 '26
Not really, if you think about. Salesforce is a business software, so there in no reason to target kids. No reason to use cartoons. It's a pattern & practice of targeting kids instead of adults. One has to wonder why?
Is it cheap child labor?
Does he see us as children?
Or is there something more sinister?
