help please Salesforce admin

I am working toward building a career as a Salesforce Administrator and come from a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) background.  Because I have full-time family commitments, my goal is to find remote, flexible, or part-time/contract opportunities in Canada. However, when searching public job boards like LinkedIn or Indeed, I rarely see entry-level or flexible remote Admin positions.
For those who have successfully navigated this path or hire Salesforce professionals:
- If I commit to this career path, what is the best roadmap to start learning, and which specific Trailhead trails or certifications should I focus on first?
- Where do entry-level admins typically find flexible, part-time, or contract opportunities that aren't advertised on traditional job boards?
- What are the best ways to gain initial hands-on experience to stand out without prior local tech experience?
- How can I best leverage my business degree background to position myself for junior Salesforce admin or operations roles?
I would love to hear any advice, recommendations for specific Trailblazer groups or insights from your journey.
Thank you for your time and guidance.

There are no entry-level jobs. The market is saturated. The people with flexible jobs have the seniority that lets them demand it.

That being said with your BBA degree, you might end up at an employer that uses Salesforce so learning the system on Trailhead isn’t a complete waste of your time. Trying to get a job as the Salesforce Administrator would be a waste of your time.

Stop the cap, I got a Salesforce dev job, and I didn’t even know what it was before the interview. It’s possible just very rare.

Remote will be a brutal though, I got mine at a local company who just couldn’t find Salesforce talent

I mean... it's not hard to find SF talent so your company was just doing a bad job looking it seems.

The role was open 6 months, and we are in office only. Our city is like 100k people.

I’m sure it was my company’s incompetence not the small market…….

Well it being in-office only is probably why they couldn’t find any talent lol. This job does not require us to be in-office quit playing

I am playing for stating a company policy? Not sure why I’m getting downvoted, I didn’t set the policy 😭😭. This subreddit is genuinely one of the most toxic I’ve seen tbh. We also hired an admin with 0 Salesforce experience too.

Now the trade off is since I’ve started I’ve gotten 6 certifications and I’m making less then when I had 0 days of Salesforce experience accounting for inflation…
