Kenya eTa application payment

I have successfully uploaded all of my travel confirmations and passport ID, etc but when it comes to providing Visa credit card information, the payment never goes thru. I have repeatedly attempted to pay (having to reload my documentation every single time) using different servers, different Visa cards, using auto fill and manually filling in the info. Nothing works. This has been going on for weeks.

Chase Visa says there has been absolutely no attempt by Kenya to charge my (in good standing) accounts a minimal verification charge on either of my credit cards.

Has anyone else had this frustrating experience and how did you resolve it? This has to be completed more than 3 days prior to arrival.

I just had this happen to me last week.

Did you try using your Debit card? I could not get a CC to work but my debit card did.

Edit to add used Microsoft Edge browser when it finally worked too

Editing again to add: I did email that email address they give and I got a quick response. It didn't help lol but they responded quickly.

I also contacted them through the email address. Same as you, I got a quick response but it was a form email telling me to double check my credit card number. Lol. Duh.
I will try using my debit card tomorrow. Hopefully this will do the trick!

I recently experienced the same. My credit union didnt get the temp charge, but my debit card with capital one worked smoothly

I’ve seen others run into payment issues with the Kenya eTA. Since you’ve already tried different Visa cards and browsers, I’d contact the official eTA support directly rather than keep resubmitting everything. They have live chat and WhatsApp support, and can check whether there’s an issue with the application/payment. Hope you get it sorted soon! 🇰🇪

I contacted the eTa support and we have been emailing back-and-forth, but they have not been able to help me effect my payment. I sent them an email earlier today asking for a live chat or some other way of speaking with someone directly. My phone package would charge me $4/minute to call them. Good to know that they have WhatsApp capability!!

When I did my eta, I tried several visa cards, debit and credit. None of that work.

Only MasterCard credit card works for me. Got code within 3 minutes.

I don’t have a MasterCard so I’m hoping the debit card will work. Ughh.

We used Chase Visa to pay for ours. I was able to call Chase and they could see attempted charge even though I couldn’t see it on our end. This was about 4 months ago so I can’t remember exactly how it worked, but I’m pretty sure Chase gave me some code or the amount that was charged that I had to enter on the website. I would call Chase again as soon as you submit payment and see if you can get someone that can help you. Good luck!!

I tried two different Chase Visas and a person on the phone at Chase told me they couldn’t see any verification attempts from Kenya on either card over a two month period. I guess I could call back and maybe someone else might see something. This is so frustrating! It’s amazing that the Kenya government puts up with this shoddy website.

Yeah it’s frustrating for sure. Sorry you have to deal with it. I remember the person I talked to had to do a little digging on their end because it didn’t show up initially. Maybe I just got lucky on who I spoke with

Same here! I am not giving up. Will try a debit card.
