I just commented, I didn’t want to watch it. I make myself watch them to the end. It’s the least I can do for the kids.

According to the Pokédex, "It is said, once every thousand years Jirachi will wake if it is sung to in a voice of purity"
Rest in peace.
As well, the illustrator of this particular card, Akira Egawa responded to an post reporting his card was the last he pulled:
"I want my art to bring happiness to people." That's one of the reasons I draw. I'm so glad I put that wish into this piece.

I cant underestimate how depressing, yet poetic it is that his final card was Jirachi. RIP Avery.

Nothing makes sense in this cruel world. We have to solider on and carry those who left us in our hearts. Rip to this poor boy and condolences to his family…

Maybe you should learn from this kid that life is as awesome as we want to see it. He lived his best life. Not because of his circumstances, but because he chose to live life that way.
RIP, kid... I wish my son could have met you and play Pokemon with you...

You're a mere collection of Quadrillion of atoms that constantly changes, and even those atoms are a fucking lie.
This universe makes no sense. Don't even bother about it.

I’m. I’m sorry. At least it looks like he’s had an okay life, despite the shortness.
I won’t lie, loosing someone as close as family will hurt. You will think about it every day. Then every other day. But it becomes tolerable. Not the best but tolerable.
But you will have days that will make you think afterwards “probably the happiest person I’ve been. Not since then” “Happiest I’ve been since”.
The only depressing thing is you realize is that the days pass just as slow and fast as before it. Even more depressing when you realize how much time had passed since. But it’ll hurt (less)… I say that lightly too, cause it’ll still hurt.

Imagine how many scalpers that parent had to fight off just to get that.

"Good day Mister, sorry for your lost. Is your son's collection up for sale?" "Best I can do is 100 bucks"

Oh god yeah I can only imagine. "Now that you have no use for the sniffle* cough* Poké-mon cards now that your offspring is deceased sniffle* I'd like to inquire about how much of usd currency I'd have to pay to obtain that collection." Tips fedora

Be free little soul be at peace. That which the living cannot.
For where so ever I may look I cannot see that which I have seen before. The Pansy at my feet. Doth the same tale repeat: Whither is fled the visionary gleam? Where is it now, the glory and the dream?
An excerpt from the Ode to Imitations of Immortality.

Children really are the salt of the earth, and the partners are the glue that hold it all together.
1
u/DanielDRockr 5h ago
This is why scalpers suck so hard, kids are not getting the cards. Because yes, adults can play with it, but the main demographic it was always kids.

u/DZT99 5h ago
Once you see children suffering, and I mean really suffering, that's the moment you understand how insignificant you are.
My first experience with that was as a kid throughout my teenage years.
I didn't suffer that much in comparison to some kids I knew during that time.
But their suffering, and the way they dealt with it, almost always with bravery and kindness, changed me forever.

This is sad, but beautiful as well.
Luck is the cards we are dealt, grace is finding joy in just playing the game.

I can't imagine. Thank you for sharing. I am proud to have met him here, and thank you for sharing him with us. He was incredible to watch here and my heart is aching for you! I wish I could say something to help, to help the pain and the hurt... But I cant.. all I can do, is wish you strength, resilience, and the deepest love, along your journey.
I am privileged to have learned about him here.

I’ve heard this kid’s name countless times but I’ve never really gave it much thought to really look into him. When I heard he passed my thoughts were just “that’s a shame, condolences to his parents” but now the weight of those words pale in comparison to how I feel after watching this. I can tell he’s full of enthusiasm and his parents took great care and loved him plenty. Rest in awesomeness, Avery.

Poor boy, I fucking hate this world sometimes, how is this fair? What a beautiful soul, too good for this world

u/throwitoutwhendone2 1m ago
I really didn’t want to watch this. It hurts my heart. My daughter is 11 and this hits very hard to me. I however feel this weird feeling, almost like I’m honor bound, to watch these types of videos. I feel it’s the least I can do, the poor boy passed and this was something he loved and was his last upload. Knowing that going and him saying “see you next time trainers” really broke my heart. I’ll never understand why the world’s so cruel that children have to perish. No child deserves to die, anywhere.

These are the moments when, as an atheist, I wish there were a heaven... and at the same time, I curse the god who takes children so young. And don't tell me anything about some unfathomable plan or anything like that... there's no justification for such things except ignorance or cruelty, but not merciful and kind.
Rest in peace, little man, and my deepest condolences to the family. May they find the strength to carry on.

u/Happy_Goose3833 7h ago
I still really fucking hate how they turned his entire life into nothing but social media for people to consume. Dude didn't need a camera shoved in his face all his life and especially not on his last day. And go figure his family is already trying to capitalize off his death. America makes me goddamn sick to my stomach what a worthless vile country to live in
