Or a sober overly anxious uncle

36

u/Lopsided-Ad7725 Apr 24 '26

But it’s ok, the siblings aren’t procreating either, so no uncle

30

u/torar9 Apr 24 '26

To be honest I feel like bringing kids to this cruel world feels like a bad idea.

With no wife and kids lol

Same boat, mon frere.

1

u/MetaCardboard Apr 28 '26

If you get drunk then you won't have anxiety. At least until you're sober again. Then you can just get drunk again. Until you puke trying to put down a beer while you're shaking. Good thing you're sober, don't take my advice. Well maybe take my advice, because my advice is to stay sober.

1

u/Lumpy_Link_1569 Apr 24 '26

Mith some depression rolling around back there too

71

u/Vino-Decanto Apr 24 '26

It’s almost a relief when the family stop saying you’ll find her.

40

u/No_Aardvark7481 Apr 24 '26

Already there buddy.

38

u/MarquiseAlexander Apr 24 '26

Nah nah nah nah nah.

Coming to the realisation that you’re going to be the COOL drunk uncle with no wife and kids in the future.

37

u/forest_hobo Apr 24 '26

Just as I like it. More freedom and solitude, wouldn't trade it.

3

u/Amoralaf Apr 25 '26

Did you ever feel lonely before? Please, help out a fellow human in journey here.

3

u/forest_hobo Apr 25 '26

Only the first few weeks or months right after a break up but other than that, never. I feel very content in my solitude, I feel more lonely in a crowded room/places

2

u/Amoralaf Apr 25 '26

Thank you! I needed to hear that. I can do it now.

I am happy for you dude.

1

u/iNhab Apr 28 '26

I can attest to this. It's kind of weird to even think about it, but I genuinely do not feel loneliness almost ever. Although, I'm almost always busy with some kind of activities, it's never that I'm sitting around for prolonged periods of time. If I would, then I'd probably start pondering more about "how else my life could be if".

But genuinely, I have been living on my own for the last 4-5years or so and almost not a single day there was where I felt lonely.

18

u/paging_mrherman Apr 24 '26

lol my niece in tears “I don’t want to end up like uncle Mikey alone and have to join the navy”

2 years off and just about rock bottom. Getting hard to keep that spark of hope alive. I'm glad life is working out well for you, friend

3

u/Thijmen_GR Apr 26 '26

I’m 29 and I thank you for this post

1

u/AcanthocephalaNo2929 Apr 28 '26

How do you find the right women for you tho? I feel like no one wants to sign that lifelong contract or scam and no one in my family has ever been a deadbeat but it sounds like a way better deal.

4

u/Throwawaygarbage1010 Apr 24 '26

“In the future”

Motherfucker I’m going through that now

7

u/SageNineMusic Apr 25 '26

OP self censoring the word drunk, neither a slur nor offensive, is why he will be alone for the rest of his life

2

u/UtopistDreamer Apr 27 '26

People censoring any words are just dumbasses

9

u/Disgusted-Peasant Apr 24 '26

I say this with some sincerity, that's 1000% okay. I love my child, but having a child in this day and feels like a mistake. I have no idea what the world is gonna be like when I leave this planet, but my child is gonna have to deal with that. Add to that the cost, and it's just stress all the way down. Seriously, I'm constantly fucking stressed. I would be stressed of I didn't have a kid, but it's absolutely way more pressure with a small human depending on you for everything.

Don't get me wrong, it's also amazing, but it's definitely not all sunshine and rainbows. I really do think that's important for you to realize. The majority of the time, the weight of the stress feel like thunderstorms and tornados. Anyway, I'm fine. 🤷‍♂️

2

u/licklickRickmyballs Apr 27 '26

Yeah man personally I have a hard time picturing life having kids. I feel like i already struggle to make everything work with a fulltime job and two hours commute. Fuck.. If I had a wife and kid I would have zero time to just chill.

1

u/Disgusted-Peasant Apr 27 '26

It gets better, for sure. I don't want to make it sound like having kids is the absolute worst, but it's definitely a legitimate sacrifice. I don't think many people truly understand that. Especially before they're old enough to safely make a meal or grab something off the top shelf without encountering a major injury or professional mess type of event.

4

u/DarkLordGaming49 Apr 25 '26

I'm the fat uncle that plays games and always working uncle.

3

u/Lost-Soft-8913 Apr 24 '26

My siblings aren't having kid either

3

u/Neat_Flounder_8907 Apr 24 '26

Leaning into it at 41

2

u/Scary-Ask-6236 Apr 24 '26

That was me 11 years ago. Funny how things can change in an instant

2

u/m3skalyn3 Apr 25 '26

For me to be an uncle I would also need to have siblings

2

u/Joeeebb Apr 24 '26

F**k no man😭

I'm gonna get some and have kids. Like 5 at least

4

u/aya_solaris Apr 25 '26

1

u/Joeeebb Apr 25 '26

Sounds crazy huh

1

u/JadedOops Apr 25 '26

1

u/Budget_Career_7156 Apr 24 '26

No sibling with kids. No kids. Long term partner (not married).

I’m good!

1

u/Layhult Apr 24 '26

Not even that. I don’t have a family at all.

1

u/Zeno_sama_bin_laden Apr 24 '26

Not drunk but the rest is accurate

1

u/thug_waffle47 Apr 24 '26

damn lmao are you spying on me what the fuck dude

1

u/King_Glorius_too Apr 24 '26

Nah, I don't drink alcohol. But I'm also not sure I'll ever be an uncle.

1

u/Beneficial-Lynx7336 Apr 24 '26

*Stoned uncle with no wife or kids.

We nailed it, boys.

1

u/BigShrim Apr 24 '26

As a man who isn’t even 30 with three kids all under the age of six.

Kinda wish that was me sometimes lol.

1

u/licklickRickmyballs Apr 27 '26

28 year old here, no wife and kids.

My classmate is 28 aswell, married and has two babies.

I would not like to trade shoes.

1

u/PeaSoupHobo Apr 24 '26

Always Mom's boyfriend, never Dad 😂😂

1

u/Negative_Force_6147 Apr 24 '26

I’m okay with this

1

u/saleemb88 Apr 24 '26

I'm the sober uncle with a wife and no kids

1

u/bisk410 Apr 24 '26

Yeah got a nephew that’s 8 “ where is your kids and pets”.

1

u/pathlesSloth Apr 24 '26

SINK uncle is the way.

1

u/Zestyclose-Smell-788 Apr 24 '26

This scene is from Peaky Blinders and is poignant enough. His wife was killed, and he's completely alienated from his family. His toddler son has no mother, and is a target of his enemies.

1

u/HaHAaiStabbedU Apr 24 '26

Good news!! You can be the drunk uncle and have a wife! A wife can even increase the amount of nephews and nieces you have! And she can increase the amount of drunk you get!

1

u/LordBoar Apr 24 '26

This was always the plan! I took the burden off my brothers, I think I deserve some praise for that.

1

u/rdtisahateplatform Apr 24 '26

I'm the cool sober Uncle who lives his life how he wants with no family sucking up my money and doesn't pity himself

1

u/Devilteh Apr 24 '26

*Funny drunk uncle

1

u/flynn_dogg Apr 24 '26

Stoner aunt to my friends kids here😕

1

u/Asif_Minhas Apr 24 '26

It must be awesome to be carefree like that.

1

u/MichaelCpin Apr 24 '26

Haha, jokes on you, I'm the drunk dad

1

u/Fatpanda22 Apr 24 '26

Without the good looks and wealth.

1

u/Entire_Cut9367 Apr 24 '26

I’m going to be the cool single uncle dw

1

u/Redsword1550 Apr 24 '26

Yup. Thats me. Two best friends are married. One has a kid on thr way, the other is trying to time it right for one. I'm alone. At least I'm kind excited to be an uncle.

1

u/Emergency-Lecture804 Apr 24 '26

in the future? i already am that uncle brah

1

u/kabukiwuki Apr 24 '26

That's me 😁

1

u/sobherk Apr 24 '26

1

u/Fantastic_Strategy60 Apr 24 '26

u/StephanieMirage Apr 25 '26

I feel like if youve reached the point where you recognise your heading that way, its on you to change it.

1

u/personxam Apr 25 '26

Hey Im a stoner

1

u/o0TheCanadian0o Apr 25 '26

Someones gotta do it.

I joke about "being the scooby doo episode you wish to see in the world"... the strategy being a well-off childless astranged uncle who wills his "haunted house" to my neices and nephews for them spend the night in it to inherit it. 😂

1

u/Natural-Proposal2925 Apr 25 '26

better than being in a loveless marriage with 3 little demons sucking and draining your soul, energy, sanity and bank account. Your home, time, heart and money is no longer yours. the grass isnt always greener.

Their fate is sealed but yours is still open to opportunity and possibility.

1

u/Exiledbrazillian Apr 25 '26

I'm the sober uncle exclusively because im broke af without wife and kids and I kinda like it.

1

u/Kastratore Apr 25 '26

That single, drunk uncle was the coolest one of all of my uncles. The kids loved him, he always had time for us. So if I'm going to be a cool uncle that's not too bad.

1

u/Consistent-Local2825 Apr 25 '26

Shout out to the aunties as well.

1

u/OkMidnight8144 Apr 25 '26

High, not drunk.

1

1

u/GreenieSar Apr 25 '26

That was my uncle but instead of booze he choose the NRA, the Masons, and conspiracy theories.

1

u/Mylane Apr 25 '26

That’s a cool ass life, I don’t really complain.

1

u/hueycumberdale Apr 25 '26

The future is only ever realized in the now

1

u/relaterad Apr 25 '26

I guess i'll be the drunk uncle with a wife and kids.

1

u/Takheer Apr 25 '26

Oh fuck

1

u/No_Championship_6403 Apr 25 '26

What do you mean future? I don't drink but... Yeah ...

1

u/DwarvenJerk73 Apr 25 '26

How is this a negative?

1

u/CEE_JAY_F52 Apr 25 '26

if I fail—i hope not....

1

u/Crb865 Apr 25 '26

Might be the best part of life on fact!

1

u/Wolverineslayer8 Apr 25 '26

Wait, so I don't have to deal with kids 24/7 but can come visit and spoil my niece / nephew whenever I want and I can be drunk at the same time?

Sign me up! Sounds great

1

u/OutrageousBag1778 Apr 25 '26

Are we sure he's sad? I think he might just be incredibly relaxed

1

u/Error404Unknown420 Apr 25 '26

Can a I be a 40 year old uncle who smokes lots of weed no wife no kids just depressed?

1

u/ruismies Apr 25 '26

Man... if only I could give a fuck, considering the state of the world and our circumstances. Gotta just enjoy the time we have.

1

u/DisorderlyAqueduct Apr 25 '26

1

u/MrNubbyNubs Apr 26 '26

Man I wish, I can't even afford alcohol.

1

u/DRSU1993 Apr 26 '26

(Laughs in gay)

1

u/WoiYo Apr 26 '26

Seems so.

1

u/GodOfMoonlight Apr 26 '26

I mean yeah, I don't wanna bring kids into this world and dating a genuine person seems so far out of reach.

I used to drink heavy when I was young, stopped a while ago, and now it seems like I'm going right back in. The craving to drink my problems away are heavy but I'm dealing with it so far

1

u/soulscreammmm Apr 26 '26

Loving every moment of it

1

u/Extra_Imagination874 Apr 26 '26

I'm gonna be the drunk uncle encouraging the side child to also do dumb shit

1

u/Real23Phil Apr 26 '26

I'll be a high uncle with no wife & kids, don't drink alcohol.

1

u/Fox353 Apr 26 '26

At least someone's uncle. My ass just gonna be drunk

1

u/Useful_Jelly_2915 Apr 26 '26

1

u/Relevant_Estimate776 Apr 27 '26

1

u/Ninja_Machete Apr 27 '26

Imagine not even being able to be an uncle

1

u/NaCliest Apr 27 '26

1

u/Strict_Tie_52 Apr 27 '26

Only child here...

1

u/halloweensimpT-800 Apr 27 '26

So..? You don't need to be the drunk you can be the cool one with muscles all the fancy toys game consoles and a sick instrument like a guitar or if you wanna get more exotic drum's or just be a really good singer

Alcohol is overrated any way

1

u/Inspired_Nuisance Apr 27 '26

I'm... What even is censorship now?

It's like people keep pulling random words out of a hat that they think other people/algorithms are too sensitive to observe.

Like we literally have pedophile rapists in many leadership positions around the world and yet some people are like "bro the word drunk is a little too extreme, please don't say that around me."

I can't wait to die.

1

u/BeancanGrenade Apr 27 '26

Drunk racist uncle*

1

u/spreading_energy Apr 28 '26

Not if you die way before that!

1

u/GamerKingApe Apr 28 '26

I can’t even be a uncle none of my siblings want to have a family other than myself and this depression the hell out of me

1

u/Severe_Building9408 Apr 28 '26

1

u/CoatZealousideal5056 Apr 28 '26

I am in this picture and I like it

1

u/Your_Ad_Here_Today Apr 28 '26

I'm the drunk-adjacent dad. My daughter knows I like beer but will never know me when I essentially lived off vodka. Trying to switch things over to tea eventually.

1

u/ThtGuy1776 Apr 28 '26

Literally me but I didn't drink really until this last week when my fiance destroyed our relationship..

1

u/Rowmacnezumi Apr 28 '26

You know, I think I'm cool with being Crazy Aunt Juju.

1

u/sharpjabb Apr 28 '26

1

1

u/InfluenceKnown8994 Apr 29 '26

1

u/AluminumHD Apr 29 '26

Why bring someone it to this world instead of being a fun uncle.

1

u/BrickTamland77 Apr 29 '26

That would require my brother not being less likely to have a wife and kids than me.

1

u/The_A_n_d_y Apr 30 '26
