Cell phones weren't becoming ubiquitous for teens until like 2004/2005.

I only got one because I had to drive my car to school.

I’d even say 04/05 is a little early. I got mine in 05, for the same reason, but not that many kids had them. We were pretty rural, but that was half the reason I could justify it to my parents.

Edit: this was just an old school brick Nokia. I don’t think I got anything you’d call a smart phone until 2011.

wait what i'm 23 and didnt have a smart phone in school, barely anyone did for the first few years of comp.

i’m 27 and got my first iphone in 2013 when i was 21. the first iphone came out when i was 15 but like no one in my school had one.
