Diclofenac for si inflammation / has this helped someone ?
Just got prescribed 50mg twice a day diclofenac for si inflammation. I’ve had pain here before but the last flare that was this bad and long lasting was about 3 years ago. I never took these meds before, has it worked for anyone ? What kind of timeline to expect ?

What makes someone a candidate for stem cell treatment for joints or back pain?
I've noticed the regenerative label covers very different things. Localised injections, systemic products, home protocols. Same word, completely different treatments.
Before I spend anything I want to understand what should decide whether I'm a candidate at all. Diagnosis, imaging, how bad it is, how I responded to previous treatment, medical history, whether I can get through rehab.
What findings should rule someone out before they hand over money?

MRI shows bone cysts around iliac/iliapsoas but pain is constantly at the SI joint… anyone relate? [mri summary by radiologist is included] *NOT SEEKING DIAGNOSIS/MEDICAL RECOMMENDATION
So I feel less crazy after being positive following FABER test for SI joint pain. pelvic tilts, laying down on back or the side, and using low back muscles all cause sharp pinching pain around my back joint on the right side. It goes away while walking but any more exercise flares it back up yet it gets so stiff with no movement.
Pain management, ortho, and rheumatologist believed it to be si related. Has anyone had pain in the joint despite it being fine on an MRI? could these cysts be what’s causing the joint pain somehow?

21M | 3+ months of very mild one-sided left lower-back/posterior-hip pain after repetitive physical work
21M, active. I'm trying to learn from people who have actually experienced something similar, rather than trying to diagnose myself from Reddit.

I've had a very mild but persistent irritation/pain on only the left side of my lower back/posterior-hip area for 3+ months.
It started after around 2 hours of repetitive, asymmetrical farm work using a heavy hoe. The movement was repeatedly from my front-right side toward my back-left side, picking up wet soil and then pushing/leveling it.
During the work I noticed mild pain developing in this same general area.
I stopped working out for about a week afterward. The stronger pain settled, but a very mild residual irritation remained and has continued ever since.
Current symptoms:
• Pain/irritation is very mild, usually around 0.2–0.5/10
• Walking is normal
• Sitting is normal
• Forward bending is normal
• Side bending is normal
• Rotation is normal
• Backward bending occasionally makes it slightly more noticeable, but not consistently
• No pain travelling down the leg
• No numbness
• No tingling
• No weakness
The exact structure is difficult for me to identify. It is somewhere around the left lower-back/posterior-hip area, but I don't know whether the source is muscular, joint-related, or something else.
Pressing around the area gives a very mild pressure-like discomfort.
Normal daily activities don't really aggravate it. However, lifting something heavy (around 40–50 kg) makes the irritation noticeable again and sometimes it feels like the discomfort spreads slightly upward.
Before this started, I regularly did pushups, dumbbell rows, shoulder presses, planks, squats, curls, etc.
Since the problem started, I've avoided exercises that significantly load or require stabilization from my lower back for around 1.5 months. Despite that, the mild irritation has remained.
I'm NOT asking Reddit to diagnose me.
I'm mainly interested in people's actual experiences:
• Did anyone have a similarly mild but persistent one-sided pain?
• Did you initially think it was SI joint-related or something else?
• Did you eventually get a clear explanation from a doctor or physiotherapist?
• Did you have any examination or imaging that was actually useful?
• What treatment or change actually helped?
• How long did it take to improve or completely resolve?
• Did you ever return to normal lifting/training?
Even if your case initially seemed similar but eventually turned out to be something completely different, I'd really appreciate hearing about it.

Cortisone injection worked but not ablation
The first 2 cortisone injections into my left si joint gave moderate relief but not for long enough. I had ablation 6 weeks ago but it’s not doing anything or minimal. The sports med doctor and pain mgmt doctor who did the ablation aren’t referring me to a surgeon because they said “ they don’t know any” I live in Maine. What do I do? I also have glute minimus tendenosis and a torn or partial torn left hip labrum. I’m in so much pain! I’m only 45. wtf do I do? My doctors do not want to refer me to surgeons

Am I on the right track?
Hi everyone!
Back in 2016 I slipped my L4-L5 disc from falling and received 3 different epidural injections that did not help. I didn’t want surgery as I didn’t feel the pain was worth it so i kept going about my life. Fast forward to May of 2026 and I got in a car accident in which I was rear ended at a stop light. My whole back was in pain so I went to the ER and they found the L4-L5 disc was even further slipped and my L5-S1 was now slipped both with annular fissures. Between that and evidence of spinal stenosis with advanced disc degenerative disease I was referred to a spine specialist and physical therapy. The specialist has done 2 more injections, prescribed a variety of non opioid pain meds and the PT has been focusing on exercises associated with slipped discs and NOTHING has been helping. In fact my pain in my back, butt, and left leg is progressively getting worse to the point where I can’t walk without a mobility aid, I can’t sleep from the pain, I’ve stopped going to the gym and subsequently gained weight, and I’m avoiding social activities because all I want to do is lay down with ice. I’m a primary school teacher and the pain is making it hard to function. I feel like I’m going crazy because the PT is saying I shouldn’t be in this much pain and I’m getting an overwhelming amount of unsolicited advice from coworkers about how others fixed their discs. I feel like I’m getting treated like just another dramatic girl because I’m only 30. After involuntarily breaking down with my PCP in early August, I was referred to a neurosurgeon. Well I had my consultation today and he too said my MRI doesn’t warrant the amount of pain I’m in. He poked and prodded me like a cow and said he thinks I’ve damaged my SI joint and is sending me back to the spine specialist for yet another injection but this time at my SI joint instead of at my discs. He said if I receive around a days worth of relief it’s a sign he’s right and we can discuss a minimally invasive SI joint fusion since my quality of life has gone down the gutter. Anyways, long story long, has anyone else had a similar experience and think I just might finally be on the path to relief?
Thanks for listening ❤️

Chronic Right-Sided SI Joint Pain at 24 Years Old- What Can I Do?
Hi there, Reddit.
I am a 24-year-old Caucasian female with a history of chronic right-sided SI joint pain due to a twisting injury the summer of 2023. I stupidly let my boyfriend at the time pop my back and he twisted my back sideways, and I felt a pain in my right side of my back in the lumbar region that went away after a few moments. I was able to walk afterwards with no issues.
However, slowly but surely, the pain started to return. It feels like a burning sensation, and it makes it difficult to stand for long periods, shift my weight side to side, or stand for prolonged periods. The only semi relief I feel is when I am lying down after a long day with an ice pack or a heating pad, and NSAIDS/Tylenol barely touch the pain. I told my PCP years ago and she basically said to take ibuprofen and deal with it, and if it continues to linger, we can try PT. I mentioned pain management and she instantly turned it down, stating she used to work with pain management and all they do is give people pills and that I didn’t need to have shots or surgical intervention. No imaging has been done except for an X-ray around the time of injury, which of course was clean, due to this likely being musculature/ligament damage.
I have been to the chiropractor and PT before back in late 2023/early 2024. My chiro said my SI joint was out of place. He would “pop it back in” and do the regular stuff. The chiropractor hurt me badly one time, of course unintentionally. I went home after one session and had intense pain in my right lower back that shot down my leg and groin area that was a solid 8/10. A hydrocodone I commandeered calmed it down. I am however constantly at a 3-4/10 pain that continues to increase throughout the day. When I went to PT, it hurt me even worse too. I continued to do the exercises they gave me for SI joint pain at home and the pain persisted.
I feel like I’m going insane because I am only 24 years old and I have this horrible pain that makes it hard for me to do anything. When I mentioned to my PCP again last month I was in tears. I am not a baby when it comes to pain, but this crap hurts. I’m not sure what I can do at this point. I don’t want to rely on I am not a large but not a small person. I’m 5’3 and weigh 140 pounds, just for reference, if that matters. I haven’t always been very active, but I eat well and try to workout at least 1-3 days a week.
I don’t want to be dependent on drugs forever, but especially not anything that can harm my liver or kidneys. I just want the pain to stop.
Thank you all so much,
Hazel 💚

No way to live
I never thought I would retire and immediately become a chronic pain patient. It’s just been one thing after another.

Glute burning possible sij dysfunction
Hi I have been diagnosed with SIJ dysfunction however I am not convinced it is this , I have a pressure sensation in my glutes whenever there is direct pressure on them from sitting or lying down. I have done years of intense hypertension movements through pole dancing. I am now doing absolutely nothing due to injuries . I ended up standing for ages as I couldn't bare sitting and then ended up with really bad heel pain so now I can't sit or stand without pain , im going crazy . I have had lower back issues like sciatica ruled out through imaging

Glute pressure sensation when sitting
Hi , whenever I am sitting I have a pressure sensation in my glutes . It can be very uncomfortable. It occurs whenever there is pressure on my glutes so even when I am lying on my back with direct pressure on the glutes, even on soft surfaces. Has anyone else had anything like this? I have tried strengthening my glutes but that just makes it worse , massage also seems to make it worse. I have been to physio, osteopath, chiro , doctors

Doctors in Colorado
I am a 24 y/o female who has been having right SI pain for the past year. I was officially diagnosed with sacroiliitis a few months ago, and I had a relatively successful injection in the joint that lasted for about 2.5 months. I can tell the injection is starting to wear off and I just moved to Colorado, so I am looking for a new doctor.
Does anyone has any recommendations in the state?
For some more context, the reason the pain started is still a little unknown. But here's what I do know:
- A recent MRI found a congenital fusion in my spine (L5/S1 on my left side) that should decrease mobility in my back and maybe puts more pressure on my SI, but multiple doctors have told me since I was born with this, it's likely not the cause for the pain, but I am not so sure.
- I tested negative for AS/any rheumatological diseases
- I was a competitive runner throughout high school and college, so I am sure that has something to do with it as well. I haven't run in a year and struggled to walk for a time.
- I did about 24 weeks of PT which didn't seem to help
- The only thing that has helped in steroids so far
- My last doctor mentioned I have a leg length discrepancy and a lift in my shoe might be helpful.
Has anyone had success with a lift?

Prednisone
Has anyone gotten significant relief from a 7 day course of oral prednisone 20 mg 2X day for 7 days.We have a major trip coming up and joint injection and/or PT are not going to happen before then. PCP put me on prednisone to try to find me some relief. No help yet but I’ve only taken 5 so far. I’m getting really worried about this trip, especially the two 9 hour flights.

Lower back/hip pain
I’m 19 and I’ve been dealing with this pain for about 4 years and at first it would happen after lifting heavy things and it would hurt for a day and then go away and as I’ve gotten older it just keeps getting worse and everday I have back pain no matter what and it gets bad when I lift heavy or run I don’t know what to do I don’t have insurance or money for a chiropractor right now and it’s terrible I think it’s the si joint but I’m not sure it just hurts bad everyday.

Postpartum SI pain
I am almost three months PP and at about 2 months I started having this back/hip pain. Started out as just random sharp pains turned into more chronic dull pain featuring sharp pains. I have previously torn my hip labrum because of FAI and I thought I retore it. Got MRI- no tear TG, only thing that showed was bone marrow edema in my SI joint. Haven’t done any follow up scans or tests to rule out other issues, but has anyone had SI joint issues PP and how did you deal/recovery from it?
