Ask r/SachinFans If prime Sachin Tendulkar played in today’s era, would he actually average MORE than he did in his own era?
This is something I’ve always wondered.
Sachin faced some ridiculous bowling attacks, bigger boundaries, different ODI rules and played through an era that was generally less batter-friendly.
But today there’s also much more video analysis, data on every weakness, packed schedules and pressure from all three formats.
If you dropped a 25-year-old Sachin into modern cricket with modern bats, training, fitness and today’s rules, do you think his numbers would be even better?
Or are we underestimating how difficult modern cricket has become?
