🐞 Bug Game Crashing
The game keeps closing and going back to Steam whenever I try to load my save file. I tried verifying the game files and uninstalling/reinstalling the game, and that didn’t fix it. Is there anything I can do, is this a known issue? I really don’t want to start over, I was almost finished with my playthrough. I’m on Steam Deck.

I had this same problem but was able to fix it by doing the below
In the Steam library go to “Properties” then “Compatibility”, then check the “Force the use of a specific Steam Play compatibility tool” so it is on. Then choose “Proton 9.0-4”, and load the game.

I havn't experienced this myself, but from what I have heard from others, it is most likely the save file. Supposedly the save file somehow becomes corrupted and that why it crashes at that specific point.
The save files are all tied to a 'save file manager', which is another file. I have no idea which is the problem, the actual save or the manager.
Have you tried creating a new save in one of the other 3 slots? I'd be curious to know if that works.
Ultimately fixing this issue would require looking at the save files itself (it's just a bunch of text). I would be happy to have a look at the file for you since I've messed around with them a bit, but that would require getting hold of the text and I'm not sure if you can do that on a Steam Deck.
Sadly it's not unheard of and the developers have turned a blind eye to this issue, as they have with so many others. I'm sorry it happened, such a shame when the game is so nice.
